I haven't tried anything other than blu, but I think people get ...... because they have to fiddle with it at times. There's a learning curve here, but people don't like that because they don't like thinking in general either.

Not sure how you can make that post if you haven't used anything else. How can you accurately compare?

I personally like KR8 stuff, but I don't turn people off 510s due to the sheer number of satisfied users for that and the fact that I haven't tried one.

And there is a learning curve with all ecigs. To paint people that don't like the blu as not thinking is a bit off imo. I haven't used a blu either, but I don't doubt the negative outlook on them when there are so many that hold the view that it's an inferior product with poor customer service.

The Blu uses carts. And the carts are MUCH smaller than the 510 carts. You will have to refill them more frequently, so it's actually more hassle. They also have shorter battery life than the 510. Not sure where you got the impression that the Blu is hassle-free. It's anything but.

If you want no-hassle for going out, try cartomizers. You can pick up 510 cartomizers, or you can get the Kr808D-1 (which also has the benefit of having better battery life than the 510).
Walk out the door with 3 or 4 full cartomizers and a couple batts, and that's it. I just take my Kr808D-1 PCC. It has 2 slots for cartomizers, and obviously a slot for charging or storing a battery. And then, I have my assembled Kr8, with a full charge and a full carto. That will keep me going all day.

You beat me to it MN. The blu seems pretty similar to the M401 and it just doesn't cut it for conveniance one the go. cartomizers do. Pretty much no fuss no muss.

My first ecig was a Blue, I ordered mine on a Thursday and received it the next Tuesday so not to bad, I have cleaned the atty's and not had one problem, if you are a heavy smoker though you probably won't like it, I have a blu, 510, and a ego and use them all, they are all good for different reasons, and if it wasn't for the blu I would have never quit tobacco cigs so am very grateful to them because it started me in the right direction so good luck!

My opinion on Blu: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-reviews/70650-blu-blows-but-looks-great.html

Blu is a LOVE / HATE type ecig in the sense that you love to hate it and you hate to love it. I DO miss my blu now and again and find myself almost buying it again because it was an awesome, small, beautiful ecig that worked GREAT with other peoples juices. However the BCig flavors lacked and the attys were prone to die if you looked at them the wrong way.

I still miss my Blu and would love to get it back. But at the same time I'm glad its gone and don't want to look back at it :p With a better warranty, customer service and flavors i could see Blu being worth the ......edly long wait. But as of yet its not worth the headache.

Was that on the USPS tracking site? Or did you have to contact them somehow? My tracking site still isn't updated. Thanks!

My info came from the USPS tracking site. It went out for delivery at 9:12 this morning, but my tracking info didn't show anything at all until 11:43 today. My other tracking numbers have been slow to update this week as well, so I'm guessing USPS is having problems with their site. Hope you get yours soon.

Absolutely.

If the Blu were a viable main e-cigarette for even a substantial minority of smokers, they wouldn't have the kind of reviews they do.

Well, I've tried all 3. I don't *own* a Blu - a friend lent me one for a few days. Thank goodness I got to try the thing before I got sucked in by the pretty website.

So I can tell you beyond a doubt that the 510 is infinitely better than the Blu. And I am mostly a Kr8 user, so that's saying something.

I prefer cartomizers to atomizers/carts in general. But if we just want to talk about consistent performance, *good* performance, maintenance, and fiddling, the 510 wins in every category.

The 510's a great model. I have 510 stuff, and I use it, and I like it. I prefer my Kr8, but you'll never find me saying the 510 is no good. My preference is separate from objective reality. Objective reality is that the 510 is a good, consisent performer, and comparitively, the Blu isn't.

The Blu isn't *horrible.* It's not that it's just crap. I can see it having its uses - for driving, for a *very* light smoker, for a social smoker... but as a main e-cig? For someone who smokes more than a few a day? Not a chance. You'll be filling carts every 5 to 10 minutes, you'll be going through batteries in 45... it's ridiculous.

Honestly, I don't get why they even bother putting carts on them at all. Or with most super-minis for that matter. They should just come with drip tips - the carts don't hold much more than you can drip on an atomizer anyway.

I *do* like thinking. And thinking lead me to buy something else, after trying the Blu.

My experience as a blu customer. I order it on Aug 31, it shipped on Sept 1st and I received it on Sept 7th. And this was the black version. Once it leaves Blu warehouses, it's up to the USPS and not Blu (other than not allowing you other shipping methods), how long it gets to you, or the route it takes.

As a pack plus a day smoker, I've been satisfied with the results so far. I did order extra carts from Volcano, because I'd heard they have a better taste and last longer. I've also gone through maybe 3-4 carts since I started vaping. Granted I've had a few analogs between all of this, but overall happy with the experience. With the portable charger, and two batteries, I can go through a whole day without any problems.

But what do I know, I actually use the product.

If it *is* working for you, then great. There are happy Blu customers. There just aren't a ton of them. And when a newbie asks what they should get, I hedge my bets and go with a more well-liked model. Is there a *chance* they'll like the Blu? Sure. But there is a MUCH bigger chance they'll like a 510, or a Kr8. And even a lot of the people who *like* the Blu need to get something with more kick in order to let go of those last few cigarettes.

I'm just saying if you want the highest chance of success, it's better to go with something that doesn't have such a high return/throw-away rate.

The problem with what your saying is, not every blu customer is a member of the forum. I'm going to generalize and say most everyone here is far more knowledgeable about vaping than the average joe; therefore they're more likely to go onto other things, and be far more critical of equipment, so assuming there's actually a very high return/throw away rate outside of this forum makes no sense.

Just because I know about this forum doesn't change my needs. I'm not a "super vaper." I don't like high voltage, or LR's. I am perfectly content with the standard 3.2v to 3.7v stock models, and doubt I will ever "upgrade."

The woman who lent me her Blu? She tried, and failed, to quit completely with it. It became something she only used in non-smoking areas. It just wasn't enough for her.

And she gave up on e-cigs because she thought there was nothing better out there.

When I tried it (before I found the forums, or knew anything about how many options there are), I had the exact same experience. It just wasn't enough for me. That's why I started doing my research and found this forum - I didn't want to give up on it.

But the Blu wasn't good enough.

I quit analogs all together with a greensmoke kit. It was tough, but I did it. Not to long after that I discovered ecf and wondered why no one had anything good to say about the brand I was using. Well, it turns out that I was paying WAAAY to much for what I was getting directly through Greensmoke. I seriously doubt that I could have kept going the way I was with what I had. It was a fight to get a satisfying drag off of the setup I had, and if I had not upgraded I can almost guarantee that I would be back on analogs. I'd bet that the Blu falls under this category. Yeah, it probably works, and gives off some vapor, but once you read up a bit and settle on another PV, it will be a night and day experience. I can't put into words the difference between the flavors I got in their carto's compared to getting a bottle of juice. That and the worries of equipment failure went out the window. I think that alone helps someone set the analogs down.

Well got my Blu and have been enjoying it for the last hour. So far the experience has exceeded my expectations. Blew out the atty, got a battery charged, and popped on a blu cart. The one I tried was terrible, even after the primer taste went away it was just horrible. I immediately washed out the cart and stuffed it with blue foam and juice from strictlyejuice. Put a couple drops on the atty and gave it a go. SO MUCH BETTER! the flavor is great, I can actually feel the nicotine, and the vapor production is better than I thought it would be. All in all I'm pretty much satisfied. We'll see how things go down the road.

Excellent! Glad to hear it's working out so far for you. I'm hoping to see mine in the mail tomorrow. ((but then again I've been saying that for two days now)) I'm waiting on a shippment of juice as well but the tracking for that one is working just fine so I'll know when to expect that. Thanks for posting an update Wolferizer, makes me eager to get mine and vape away these horrible cravings. Wasn't anticipating having to wait this long, so no analogs for me for 24 hours so far. Hope I dont break down tonight...

Compare the Blu battery to the battery on an eGo and you'll see the handicap of a super mini. The atty works pretty darn good. It all falls apart in the transference of liquid from the cart to the atty. It just doesn't happen. The first drag is good and it all goes downhill from there. If you're willing to drip or dip, it works ok for as long as the battery holds out. But that isn't too long. If physical size and form factor are important, Blu is ok. If performance matters, Blu comes up short.

Ya know, you can get pretty close to the same size on a 510 with cartomizers. It's just a little smidge wider and longer. But only a smidge.

And that'll blow a Blu out of the water every time.

I get that a lot of newbies want something the size of a cig, and that makes perfect sense... but when it's in your mouth and you're dragging on it, you're going to notice how it actually performs more than how it looks.

I started with a blu kit about a week ago. I made it through a few days, but the constant switching and recharging were driving me nuts. I have an eGo kit now, and just off of the charge it had when it arrived, I made it through the night that it came, a full 12+hr workday, and well into the next morning before the light started to flash. The blu kit is ok, my shipping only took 5 days, but right away the carts seemed to suck. I found that it's actually that johnson creek juice that they use. I ordered some directly from JC and it sucks just as much in my eGo as it did with the blu.

Overall, I would have to say that the ego is ok, if you're willing to refill or drip or dip, but with the stock carts, it just sucks.

Just wanted to add my $.02

I ordered my Blu kit (Black w/ light carts) on Thursday evening (9.2.10) recieved shipping information the next morning 9.3. I've been watching the tracking and while Mailexpress (now known as Streamlite) shows that the package was accepted on 9.7.10 at 11 AM by USPS at a post office approx. 5 miles from me in Kakakee and I still have yet to recieve it. The USPS tracking site of course is not updated so I have no idea if they sent it down to central mail processing in Springfield IL just to send it back to the Bradley post office. I'm sure my post man is really tired of me stalking him, but I want my kit!

I'm in Bourbonnais! Took week and a half for mine at the end of July. I have ordered the 510 and it should be here tomorrow. Odd question, do you have friends that call you bullfrog? I think my kids know you. LOL:laugh:

Update: Okay, just checked with USPS and the blu should be arriving later today. I likely flew off the handle a bit as work has had a fire under me all week and I've been cutting down on my analog use recently. It's been a long week, that's all I can say. Also, to everyone ragging on the blu's performance, the truth is I'm not expecting it to be some kind of amazing workhorse or anything. I'm aware of it's pitfalls. I'm also just starting out and don't even know what I'll be wanting out of vaping yet, so I went into purchasing the blu with the intentions of trying before buying. The 30 day money back guarantee was attractive to me, because if vaping isn't for me, there's no real loss. I don't have a ton of money to blow right now, and the blu will cater to my basic needs. So really, if it is honestly such a horrible product, then my bad. I'm part of the "don't knock it till you try it" camp though, so we shall see. Not worried about my refund, as I've bought volcano carts and attys, as I heard the stock blu attys are pretty much meh, as well as juice from another vendor as well. I'll return later to post my first impressions of the blu, and vaping in general. Catch you all later!

The 30 day money back guarentee has a lot of strings attached. For instance, if you use even one of your cartriges that's 25 dollars less that you'll be getting back. So you'll only get half of what you originally paid for the kit.

Awesome! Yeah, the prefilled carts are generally pretty horrible. I feel so sorry for people who think that that is all there is, who never find ECF or other outside information, and walk away from their first experience thinking that e-cigs all taste like alfalfa mixed with a urine sample.

Congrats!

Honestly the pre-filled carts on the blu are extraordinarily delicious. I've never liked any other pre-filled carts since. Never will again. The Blu is an exception to the prefilled carts rule.
