Blu Returns

My husband got the Blu and is not happy with it.

I was going to try it to see if they would work for me, but after the recall, I think we're both better off changing to a proven leader in the market. After I did some post-purchase research here and elsewhere (mostly here) I plan on getting both of us the VK.

BUT - he's trying to return his Blu, ad has had an impossible time getting an RMA number and address to which to send the package. Has anyone had any success with returns to this company? The calls he has made have been obviously from 'outsourced' locations, and tell him they can't give him an RMA and address, and his emails are unanswered even after several days.

Any tips or assistance available?

I liked my Blu, but decided to return it rather than wait for who-knows-how-long on a new PCC pack, since that was a big part of its appeal. I phoned in yesterday and got an RMA form emailed to me right away. They did neglect to include the required RMA#, but another quick call took care of that.

I mailed it off to them the same day. Here's hoping they're still around to process a refund. I have a feeling that this recall could be the death-knell for ol' Blu, but I could be wrong.

As it sits right now I'm sticking with only my manual 510 for a while. I want to wait a little and see if I miss the Blu enough to pony up for another auto. If so, I might go with Volcano (same as Blu), Sidesho (similar to Blu), M410 (Evo), Joye306 or just get a couple of auto batts for the 510.

In your bushes, watching you undress
<shrugs> Even though I own SideSho, 510s, M401s... I still love my Blu.

Just gotta 'learn' how to vape it, it is particular.

I get a lot of vapor, flavor and decent throat hit, plus you can't beat the convenience of the PCC. Sure, now you have to wait for the replacement PCC, but no big whoop for me.

Sorry you couldn't make it work for you.

I had to make one return and it couldn't have gone more smoothly (though, actually, I wasn't getting a refund, just trading bad batteries for good ones). I originally emailed, and two days later I got a response saying that I should call for quicker service. So I called, explained the problem, and was immediately told to expect a return form by email and that for the RMA number I should use the order number from my purchase. I got the form about two hours later, printed it out, filled it in, sent it back with my bad batteries, and they sent replacement batteries before I'd even filled out the form! The new batteries showed up a few days after I called and have been working perfectly.

So, tips:

1) Call, don't email.
2) Ask for an RMA number, but if you forget, it's probably just going to be your order number (which you can see in your order history when you log in at the web site).

I like mine, it's not amazing.. but not bad enough to return it. refilling is a bit of a pain though since every little plastic thing is a different size and so the amount of liquid that would be perfect in on cart clogs the atty in another. bah.

i ordered a 510, if i like it enough, i'll probably sell my blu to my friend who wants a vape for messin around with.

Huh? All of mine are the same size. Haven't heard of this before...

yep their right, the plastic liquid containers come in two sizes that i've seen, a smallish one and a long one. depends on the flavor u ordered. its either the vanilla or the cherry that has the long plastic container

Wow, sounds more like the manufacturer made a revision to the cart design and so some of the carts still out there are the original model and some are new. If anyone with time and a camera with macro mode would like to post a comparison picture, I'd love to see the difference. I'm using 306a carts now, which hold more than the original blu carts, but if the new blu ones are equivalent or better, I might switch back; the 306a inner carts are black instead of clear, so it's harder to know when to stop filling.

I was going to return my Blu after the recall since I had ordered a 510. I emailed them and got the info quickly. They advised to use my order number for an RMA. I got the 510 today and am not that impressed. It puts out a little more vapor, but has a lot less taste to me. And the manual battery seems to die pretty quick. Most reviews said it would last with constant use 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. I might get an hour out of it and it has to charge about an hr. The PCC for it it kinda cheesy IMO. Soooo, I am keeping my Blu. The batteries charge faster, it came with 2 and I ordered a 3rd and 2 extra attys which are 2 for $10 and I like the Blu PCC looking like a cig pack and it holds a second full cig so I can carry 2 complete Blu's in it. I can wait for a replacement. Heck it came with a usb charger so I can still charge the bats. Overall, the Blu is cheaper on parts and I get more flavor so I am sticking with it. Also, the 510 attys will work on the blu bats and vice versa.

GOOD LUCK! I had a battery that went out on my blu in the first thirty days, I knew i was covered for a year so i wanted to exchange it. I spent an hour on the phone and another hour on the website trying to talk to a real person. Im not impressed with blu's customer service.

As I mentioned before, I had a couple of bad batteries to return, and it went perfectly smoothly. They even shipped out my replacements the same day I called, before I had a chance to send the bad ones back.

I've heard all these horror stories about blu customer support, but in the four months I've been a customer, my one and only support experience has been excellent. Maybe it's just the luck of the draw as to whom you get on the phone.

I'm not really a fan of the blu. I mean it looks really cool, the PCC looks awesome, however the 510 will whoop it's ... any day. Plus it's cheaper.

Cheaper?! Where? I got mine at InnoVapor, and their current price (even after the 10% coupon code) for a kit with 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, a USB charger, a wall charger, five cartridges, and a PCC is $81. At Rocky Mountain Vapor, which seems to have some of the lowest prices I've encountered, a similar kit with PCC and USB charger costs $77. blu charges $60 for all that. (Granted, you have to wait to actually get it... ;))

As for whether or not the 510 is better, that's a matter of opinion and depends on your priorities. The 510 wins hands down on throat hit and produces a tad more vapour, but I don't like it because it's one of the worst e-cigs for flavour, I find it too big and heavy, I hate needing to dedicate one hand to vaping, I hate having to push a button to vape (I know there are automatic 510 batteries, but if they're anything like JOYE's 306a automatic batteries, then the L88b ones are far superior on the draw), and the PCC doesn't even store an assembled 510, so unless I carry the PCC AND a separate 510—which just seems ridiculous—I need to screw parts together every time I want to vape.

With PTB-modded carts, I find the blu, incredibly, puts out almost as much vapour as the 510, despite the much smaller battery. And so, I pretty much dropped the 510 and went back to the blu full-time.

I fully realize I'm in a tiny minority in this respect. :p

hxj -- I really appreciate you championing the blucig. I just got mine and I'm suffering from the same vape/throat kick problems as everyone else. Still, I'm not going to lie. I mainly got these e-cigs so I could go to the club and fit in with everyone else that's smoking and also have a conversation starter. :)

That being said, you keep saying the 510's PCC doesn't hold a fully put-together 510. However, in the pictures I'm seeing of these 510 PCCs, the pack is fuggin' huge! It looks really long. So how in the world does it not hold an entire battery + atty + cartridge?

And the m801 attys and cartridges are the ones most people recommend to fix the blu's problems, correct? Because I'm just not committed enough to go modding my stuff out with PET, dripping, etc. I just need to be able to screw in a cartridge and have it work, ya know?

Again, thanks for your detailed responses on this forum. I've learned a ton in the couple of days I've been skimming the threads here!

I'd suggest what I use a Kr8. Mine's a vaporking from vapor4life but there are others out there you can easily find. Wigh a short battery you have a fairly close to a cigarette size. It's a two piece just screw in the cartomizer and go

I just got my blu probably like 3 days ago and i love the thing. understand though that it is my first e-cig, but i feel like it fits my needs perfectly. the only problem i have with it is the fact that its hit and miss with the vapor, but im starting to try and fill my own carts and drip a little. I really have no idea how to do any of that but thats the point of DIY :D. I had seen a video clip on fillin the Blu original carts, and this guy had used a toothpick and just stick it in the cart and dripped right down the toothpick and it works? ive only tried it once so ill keep at it and see how it goes. If you have any tips PLEASE let me know cause i could use some one refilling and dripping.

Haha, Hxj, Im with you on that minority. I take a vape from my friends 510 every now and then and it always comes out tasting... scorched? Ill stick with my Volcano and L88B Volcano Passthrough...

And Deadlock, I did that today out of curiosity and it does in fact work... but ONLY do it if you are refilling with the same flavor. It will end up tasting nasty.

And also... about the carts. My Volcano came with the longer carts, but they are clear ones, not black.
