Blue Foam has me stumped

Using a three piece ecig, and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong with blue foam. Pulled out the existing batting from the cart, replaced it with the foam following all of the video instructions, and either 20 drops of juice go in and never come back out, or 20 drops of juice go in and come right back out all at once. so I either get flooded attys, or burned out attys, but no vape. HELP!!!!!

Start with the plug that holds the liquid and never lets it back out. Make sure it's the same length as the inside of the cartridge.

Trim just a hair off one side of it. Try it out. Still "holds" liquid without releasing it? Trim a little more. Trim just a tiny bit at a time, until it releases the right amount of liquid without flooding the atomizer. It takes some trial and error on any replacement material to find the sweet spot.

Oh, also make sure to use a dishwasher on a large piece before cutting. While some say the blue foam has a bad taste, not only will washing it remove any taste it will remove the tendency for the as-manufactured foam to flood atomizers.

I'm having the exact problem as O99. I've been using Blue Foam for the last month with no problem. Yesterday I started using Butter Rum from Tasty Vapor with a 80/20 PG/VG blend. I'm not sure if the extra thickness of the juice is causing it not to wick correctly through the Blue Foam, but it's driving me mental. I've cut to different sizes and thicknesses, and all I get is a couple of puffs before the top goes dry. Too thin, you guessed it, flooded atty and a pool of really yummy juice wasted.

Dripping works beautifully, but I need a solution for when I am on the road.
