Boge 510 LR cartos

I bought 10 Boge 510 LR cartos because I read they were great. I opened one up and tried filling it with the condom method and it just would not absorb the juice. I searched the forum and tried every method of getting it to take the juice except using a syringe (which I don't have). Eventually, after about 20 minutes, I got it to take some juice and it worked fine for a little while. After a few hours I started getting a really bad burnt taste. I peeked inside the top end and the filling was saturated on the top. Same problem with the 2nd and 3rd. The third I'm not getting any burnt taste, but I'm not getting any vapor either. When I try to put about 3 drops in the top for it to soak down through, it just sits there and will end up running out the threaded end on to a paper towel.

This is getting very very frustrating for something I've seen raved about over and over. I'm just getting started into vaping and I'm trying to convert my wife, but I if keep flushing money down the toilet I'll never get her off the cigs. I liked the clearos that came with my kGo kit, but I read that you could get more life out of the boge cartos, but I've yet to get even 4 hours out of one.

Sounds like the bottom of the carto is not fully saturated. Try putting a condom over the batt end of carto and thermometer shake-add a few drops and thermometer shake again. First fill is VERY important- once first fill is done you can just drip through the top without thermometer shake.

Welcome to the forum, Szerek. Sorry you're having trouble - there is a bit of a learning curve to cartos. What PG/VG ratio are you using? I find that the syringe method is the only one that works for me with really high VG juices. Once the carto is filled properly, topping off isn't a problem.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, especially when starting out like I am. I have read that the cartomizers you mentioned have been having issues, like something recently changed for the worst. Some sites stopped carrying them because of the problems. I don't know the cause, but I know you arent the only one with recent issues. I realize that doesnt help your issue but hopefully steers you away from thinking you are doing something wrong. Good luck.

Hello, My experience with carts has led me to my solution when filling.I place a few drops around the edge then blow it down into the cart, continue adding drops and blowing into it until it starts to puddle up at the top. I place one drop down the center and hold a paper towel under the end blow through gently and catch excess juice and dry the end of the cart .The drop down the middle saturates the wrapping around the coil that is inside the cart.Let it sit for about 5 minutes. I have had great success with this process.

This is what I do on first filling. Afterwards don't seem to have a problem refilling and do not have to blow into it again.

I tried all kinds of different cartos, several xls, and had the same problem. Then, even though Vapoor eyes advised against it, lol, I got Smoktech dual coil cartos.
For some reason they work perfectly for me. They last for weeks, they are very easy to fill, I haven't had one burn yet and they produce a lot of vapor! I fill them twice a day. I know when it's drying out because the taste is different, but not a totally dry or burnt taste.
The only thing I don't like about them is the flat plastic mouthpiece but since they're wider than normal no other mouthpiece fits them.
They may wear the battery down faster but since I have two I just switch it out so it's not a problem.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm vaping 60/40 PG/VG, though I did try to put some 100% PG menthol in it with the same pooling issue. I will try the thermometer shake and see how that works. Thanks for the replies.

Just do the condom method but once the liquid comes up threw the center hole to the mouth end put on the other condom so both ends are covered with condoms. Then wait like 5 min for it all so soak in. Works like a charm. Hope this helps.

Tried the condom method but it never really worked for me. What I do is what many of us kindly refer to as the Baditude method lol! This is my version but still the same in essence, You should check out his blogs.
1 put a toothpick down the center...careful not to damage you coil
2 put in some drops of your liquid...I usually fill to the brim & give it a while to absorb
3 once it's absorbed shake the carto like a thermometer
4 fill & repeat until the top of the filling looks like a slushy

I've been using Boge LR 2.0 cartos since I started vaping. The only time I had a problem with them was ordering from a different vendor than the two I usually order from. Then some in the boxes did what you describe.

You can also use the Taryn spin method. I'm also new to cigarette vaping and purchased boge 2.0 cartos and find them a bit frustrating lmao. I was experimenting with the taryn spin last night and did it a bit different using bobas bounty (mostly VG except for perhaps some flavoring not more than 5% PG they say).

So Bobas Bounty is a difficult juice to work with in regards to cartos and feel your pain. But I fill it from the mouth end leaving mouth plug in. Fill up half of the smaller condom and once I see juice coming out the battery end (and usually still have juice in the condom) I put the .... plug into the battery end and the large condom over it and do the taryn spin (you can google that). So when the taryn spin is done I have condoms on both ends.

I use a sunglass sachel, 5 pennies taped into one stack for weight, a small plastic zip lock that came with a charger, velcro twist tie. Stick the carto into plastic bag (just in case of leakage to sachel). Penny bundle on bottom of bag, plastic bag with carto into sachel battery side down, and velcro tie around carto on outside of bag to keep it in posistion. At this point there may still be juice in the mouth end condom before I just spin the bag or twirl so to speak (this is the taryn spin method tweaked a bit lol). After 10 seconds of doing this re add more juice (5 or 6 drops) to mouth end, replace with condom and twirl again.

At that point I take the carto out of my ghetto fab taryn spin setup and let it sit for a while. afterwards take the condoms and .... plug off and wipe it down with tissue or paper towel and I gentle blow through the hole in the middle from each side letting condom catch any extra juice which I use later to top off (I'm the only one using these cartos so don't get grossed out lol).

My only issue is the flooding part in the beginning but seems to go away after 5 or so vapes. just my two cents. Hope it helps.

Thanks again for responses. I've set the juice sit in two of the cartos for an hour and it didn't absorb. The thermometer method worked with the 5th in the pack and it is performing well. Two of the other 4 won't absorb anything no matter what I do. The other two seem to absorb, but nothing is getting to the coil. I've watched about 4 or 5 different videos on youtube on filling the boge cartos as well as dozens of posts on here.

Hi Szerek. Do you have anythink sharp? like a tooth pick?straightened paperclip? ...... slide it down the side between the filler and the outer wall of the carto tube(on the ones that dont absorb), this will allow the inner filler to be exposed to the liquid pooling on top. Hopefully allowing the inner surface to saturate with liquid. I do this with a slim tweezer, and then I fill the voild with a syringe tip to pump the liquid into the filler material. I would advise you to place the bottom cover back on the carto before you do this. You may just have a bad batch that is over packed, but the boges are fairly tough to get filled when they are new, and honestly I had a hard time with my own first batch of cartos . I threw out probably 15 cartos before I actually got a clue as to how to get them filled, and keep them topped off to avoid burning. Once you figure out the best method for yourself, you should have a reliable and enjouable vape. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.
