BOGE 510 SR Slotted - So disappointing

So I bought a carto tank, and it came with one 2-hole punched smok 510 SR carto. Needless to say, I anticipated a need for more, and since all everyone does is rave about boge cartos, I bought a box of SR slotted boges. All I can say is I am quite displeased. I loaded one in my tank, and popped it on my Tesla. Checked my ohms, 2.8, and all was well with the world. That is, until I hit the fire button. Nothing seemed to happen; no crackle, no hit, nothing. Then I noticed an odd amount of vapor, or maybe smoke even, coming from the base of the tank. Figured this probably wasn't too great, so I released the button and checked my ohms again. 9.9. It's like it wasn't registering that the carto was even there. Needless to say, I figured it was just one dud in the box, and tried another one. Same story. So now I'm stuck with a pretty used but not quite dead Smok, and a very large hatred for the slotted boges.
Anybody know what gives?

Did you fill the cartomizer with juice, or just fill the tank?

It definitely sounds like you're not priming the carto and dry-burning the coil until it pops.

Same thing will happen if one doesn't saturate their wick before vaping a rba, or letting the juice saturate a Protank wick or Aspire BDC. One of the common instructions left out on many things. Just like if you have a carbureted vehicle that ran out of gas, if you don't prime the carb it won't fire up. This was before fuel injection and electric fuel pumps. Cars had these things called carburetors that feed the gas into an engine, and had a manual fuel pump. No prime no vape.

Nope, definitely primed, not that much of a noob. Third carto from the box worked like a charm though, even though I did nothing different to it. So I guess it's all settled.

I have been using the slotted Boge SR XLs lately (until Ikenvape stock is available) with no difficulties or faulty cartos. They don't taste as good, but they are working.

It is possible you got some bad ones.

Imagine, they make 100s of thousands Boge and Smoktech cartos at a time. In china on some assembly line. They also rebrand those under other names. There has got to be some duds in there.

The Ikenvapes are made in Much smaller runs so their QC is better. But still some duds get through. Out of 50 Ikenvapes I have experienced 1 or 2.

Same here. Out of 50 Ikenvapes, only 1 bad.

I slot my Boge LR catos. I always check the ohms before I slot them and after I slot them. I agree with Baditude and BernieVidio I will get one or two duds in a box of 50. Nothing is perfect but, some stuff is real good!
