I don't use cartos much any more.

But when I did I Never boiled them. Seemed to lock in the stink sometimes kinda like when you put hot water on a stain. I found room temperature water cleans just as well. I just flush them under the faucet and them blow them out. Put them in a warm place like under a desk lamp and let them dry overnight.

I've had zero success cleaning any carto that has filler material. Boiling, syringe method, etc. None turned out well whether fully dried or not. Afterward, they either quit working entirely or tasted like total crap.
Huge waste of time, imo.

This was my experience too. I boiled for 15 minutes, rinsed in a colander, then put in the oven for 15 minutes on 225. I let them sit overnight and filled two or three. One was so hard to pull on, I gave up. The other two would not absorb juice. Overall, it s cheaper than a pack of smokes, but the frugal side of me is trying to get more than a few uses out of them. In my experience, the juices that contain the most sugar are the hardest to get usable again.

I don't boil them but I run hot water through them a few times, blow them out.....repeat. Then I let them soak in a vodka bath for an hour or so then blow out and let dry.
I've really only thrown out 2 or 3 in 5 months. Not too bad. The really good Ikenvape cartos never get thrown out.
But then again, I'm really thrifty (read: Major Cheapo)

I tried to boil/clean one last week. The result was meh. Being the lazy ... that I am, I quickly decided that attempting to clean them is too much effort since they are relatively inexpensive to begin with. Plus a cleaned one is still not nearly as good as a brand new one straight out of the box.

The way I see it- the price of one box of cartos is about the same price as a single pack of cigarettes. So if I go thru one box of cartos per week (or longer), I am still much better off than when I was going thru a pack of smokes every day.

I to never had much success cleaning cartos with filler in them, alcohol, boiling, soaking, flushing, oven, air dry etc. I've tried most every method I've read. Some seem to revive them for a very short period but never anywhere near to the performance level they had when new and it never lasted long. Waste of time imo.
