1. People who call it a personal vaporizer or PV for short. It's an e-cig to me, and that's what drew me to it in the first place.
2. People who use the language of the anti-smokers and call them stinkies: you were a smoker a few days or weeks ago. Stop playing to their hands.
3. People who say we should hide in corners and not use e cigs in bars
4. People who constantly recommend mods and specifically, the EGO, to new people who clearly want something resembling a real cig
5. The word analogue to refer to a cigarette
6. People who immediately blame e cigs for every new cold, rash, or other condition common to mankind.
7. many, many more, but I'll stop for now

Most of those are ones I wish I'd said first.

In the general vein, I'd add vendors and posters who act like it's some great moral or aesthetic error to want a juice that tastes like a cigarette.

People posting using the first names of the suppliers/retailers, instead of using the company/website name.

Actually, I find this rather endearing (even if admittedly confusing at times). It underlines the neighborliness of this community, and the newness of the product.

Here's one that I just encountered today: I just ordered a bunch of cartomizers of a brand I've come to like a lot, some regular and some low-resistance. Once they leave their boxes they will be indistinguishable, unless/until I figure out a way to keep track. Maybe time for some standardization. (But then again, I like the DIY/pioneering/new-industry feel this connotes.

My pet peeves are...

Members that don't put there location in there profile.

Members explain about there experiences (with E-liquid for example) and they don't specify what equipment they are using.

Some people put this info in there signature which I find useful.

I think there should be a spot in your profile to put the current device your vaping with in there so everyone can see it. (I wish I could nudge a Moderator with my elbow while typing this to get their attention.)

Pet peeve #1) Setting my Inferno down and coming back to find my friend sucking on my good drip tip because he wanted to try my flavor. YOU KNOW WHERE I KEEP MY JUICE AND YOU HAVE A 510 WITH YOUR OWN DRIP TIP ON IT IN YOUR POCKET YOU FILTHY SCHMUCK!!! This has happened several times and is about to end very badly.

Pet peeve #2) "Oh you quit smoking? Thats wonderful! Now when are you going to quit using that thing?" I'm not. P*ss off.

I completely agree with #2 To me, it's not to get rid of the nicotine addiction, just deliver it in a safer, more enjoyable way.

Hilarious thread.
I am new so I have only a few.
Drives me nuts when I am considering an e-cig and I have to google to figure out what batteries/attys/cartos are compatible with it
When starting out I was looking forward to saving dough only to find I am buying a ton of juice and other stuff just to try it out (ok, I like this part)
Burnt tastes.
Dead attys

I guess that would lead me to another peeve....it took a solid 3 days of searching the Web and ECF till I figured out what was what, and then a good week or more of part time searching (cuz I got sick of it) to learn how to make the stock models satisfy me (ie 510 cart mods!). I really don't think that's conducive to the average smoker who wants to vape. Obviously, I'm still in "learning" mode since I haven't ventured beyond stock models but that's my thought at the moment.

I look forward to a brighter, easier future for the smoker who wants to vape (crossed fingers).

People who call tobacco cigarettes "analogs".

Comparing a digital clock to an analog clock with ticking hands is the correct way to use this word. Who ever came up with this word "analog" instead of cigarette really makes me mad :)
Agree. Although I used it when I first joined ECF more than a year ago. I only did so because ... well, everybody else seemed to be doing it. It didn't take me too long to realize how asinine it was. they're cigarettes people!

Blowing vapor out too fast through your nose, insta runny nose.

Some atomizers that burn your throat when more drips are needed.

Using one of the original packing boxes as the carrying case for all of your goods. 100s of bottles, tips, atomizers, tools, PTB, cartos, etc floating around in the box.

Opening the mentioned box in front of non-vapers and hearing "holy sh** dude what the heck is all that, you need that much stuff?" Then looking at it yourself and kind of agreeing in your head.

The term +1. Still not quite sure what that means exactly.

Countless youtube reviews with the infamous "wow, tons of vapor, insane throat hit, and massive flavor".

Flavor being so subjective.

The taste bud turn off days.

Quit zits.

Crazy insomnia.

Goodnight my ECF pals :)

GOOD LORD. These points completely captivate it all. Can I "favorite" a single post on ECF????

The "shipping box 'o' vaping crap" really hit home for me. You have totally gotten inside my head!!!

"+1" is okay with me...it means you have my vote!! Plus eleventy!!! (ya whutever)

BTW I didn't realize that vaping was correlated with insomnia. I guess that explains why I haven't been sleeping too well since I totally kicked the cigs. I'll ride it out....though I have to admit I'm used to sleeping like a friggin' rock.

I dont like it when you BUY someone there very own PV because they want to quit smoking and they dont use it and wont give it back!

That!

And, when you give someone all the equipment they need to get started along with all the info to read up on it (including sitting down and walking them through ECF) and they still come back to you 3 months later and say, "My two batteries are dead, do you have any more "spares" oh, and, BTW, ummmmm I'm outta juice, too"???
