Boro Mod's, Tanks, Attys And More

They do have limited lifespans. Decades ago the numbers were like 50,000 on hours for the screens. Nowadays I'm sure it is much higher now. But I am not in the same camp as most. As I believe a lot of mods will outlive most of us without a problem. Probably the highest failure of regulated mods is the fire button. As they are expected to last so many presses and that is it. But some like dna fire buttons can be dissembled right on the board and cleaned. So you're good to go again.

But sometimes the stars are just aligned right or something. And some things last well beyond their expected lifespans.

Like you said, those numbers are just averages. The BB I have that's dimming was the first one I got, Used it about a year, then I got a second one and swapped them out.

Only mods that happened to me with before is Pico. I have one that is almost completely blank now and a couple more that are really dim. Those tended to blink out one small area at a time rather than going dim all over.

Now that you mention it, yes! We did have one or two Picos go belly-up too, in that same manner. One of those little Vaporesso Target mods too.

I think we're setup to last. If not, we'll buy again someday (an unlikely scenario).

Do you happen to know what size the screen is on the BB. I notice there are three rows on the regular screen, for ohms, volts, and amps. Does that mean large?

Yes that is a large screen. Where to buy? Many should know. I have a stockpile of them so I haven't look for them in years. But Protovapor is one place I remember if you are in the US.

I just did some googling. Found them at the Evolv site for $12. Found some videos with instructions for replacing them on the BB. A lot of them had been deleted, guess that happened during the vaping purge. But there are still some out there and it didn't look too hard. Luckily I like tinkering. Think I'll order a couple of them just in case.

It occurred to me that my screen might not have died by chance. Remember when I first got the BB I had some major flooding while I figured out how to use the bridges. Three or four times where juice was coming out of the bottom of the chip compartment. That would have been on my first BB which is the one with the bad screen. Never flooded out the other one.

Kat's got a couple of those ORIGINAL (and CHEAP!) iStick thingies, with internal batteries, that are hilariously STILL going. We can't figure it out, but it's always a good source for laughter.

Some one posted a while back the screen from a clone BB would work on a DNA60, I never tested.

For you experts, I'm currently looking at a SXK boro device that only seems to be available from 2F Deals. I've purchased from them in the past but this transaction has been problematic (to put it mildly). I've emailed numerous times, and PM'd their primary contact here on ECF. To date, I've received exactly zero responses (from any of the messages).

My question is, have any of you dealt with them recently? I can't help but wonder if they've ceased operations. It would be odd because their still dropping "New" posts here on ECF (as recently as last Thursday), but that's the ONLY sign of life I can see from them.

IF anyone has thoughts, please let me know. Otherwise, ignore (and thank you!).

I wish I could say the same. Only one 21700 Boro style mod released in 2023 and they were all gone within two weeks. There were no 21700 boro style mods released in 2022 (unless you count the reinforced version from 2021). And only one 21700 boro style mod released in 2021. And none for the year 2020. So if you need me, I'll be between my friends Slim and Pickings.

My experience with 2FDeals ended in 2022 when I had enough. But the only hope of communicating with them was opening up a ticket from your account. Oops! I just checked and now you just go to your inbox on your account and send them a message. Hope that helps.

What is the problematic order? They do have issues with credit card approval. There is a work around for paypal payment. Nov 10th 2023 I have some email they sent me. I will MSG it to you.

I hit up Min, and asked if no one finished payment on there MOD, I would take it. Got a choice of 4 mods. I did see people waiting 6+ months on the Weekender. I had mine in two months, tired of stalking FB. He is also making custom panels for my KBRON (lucky list winner). And lottery $, I wish.. I am just impulsive. Vape Gods love me =)
