Does this not mean the boge leo cartomizers are bottom coil catomizers?

It certainly looks that way. I wonder what the gogo and echo cartos look like with their bottom horizontal coils? Is that a well-used leo carto? Looks like no burning? That 1st pic that was posted of a used carto put me off big time and that's what's been holding me back from buying some (besides the price of shipping to S.A) I really want to use my Leo batts!

I'm no expert but that seems to look like the same coil style as KR808. Yes the coil is at the bottom but note that it's mounted vertically, not horizontal like Gogo, etc. I think the vertical coil goes up into the wick material some, whereas a horizontal coil is either completely below the filler and/or has the filler just barely touching the coil. That's the extent of what I know and am sure others can come in and explain it better. All I REALLY know is that the Gogo can have its filler removed without disturbing the coil or connections.
