Look into gdeals fd classic 510 conversion. It's what i use on all my builds. It's rock solid and leak free setup.

Where is everyone getting there bottom fed 510s? I'm looking into building a simple squonk box.. Just to get my feet wet into building really. I don't really care for the Fat Daddy 510s, I've heard some bad reviews on them. I suppose if that's the route I have to go, then I will. Just looking for options.

The vented screw setup from gdeal is by far the best setup, if you thread the insulator for the screw its flawless, no orings needed, Best for sure

well I'm feeling incompetent then because both of mine have slow leaks. Although I'm not sure if it's coming from my tap job or the outside threads of the FD insulator (questionable thread strength and/or quality imo).

Will a food grade silicone take care of this?

Yes it should Mike. Did you try perhaps to over tighten the insulator and strip it's threads? They strip real easy btw

thanks Steve. It's possible I suppose. I did have to use pliers to remove the insulator after drilling/tap. I don't know what material it's made out of but yeah it does seem a bit fragile. I'll give the silicone a go, thanks again

btw, I just ordered some V4's to try

might have to get some material to make my own insulators...there's delrin, and what's the name of that other stuff?

I figured as much...I stumbled across the vented screw mod after I'd already done a couple "drill out the brass thingy and solder a tube in it" method...is the driver to go with the vented screw an SS thing or a leak thing?

I haven't had a single leak in any of mine Quigs

for me it was the ability to adjust the 510 AND not have to solder. I like the all buss no solder circuit and the screw lets me do it.
btw, one of mine is ss and one is brass
