Just incase anyone isn't familiar with these 3d printed feeders, here's mine, dna40 inside:

What was your final cost on that? I saw someone quoted nearly $250 but had bought a few extra pieces to keep on hand.

I bought a lot of extra parts so I have no idea, but I have enough parts to build prolly 5 units, I spent quite a bit.
Even buying extra parts is not a lot more the shipping is the expensive part, that's why is cost effective to buy more parts. The parts besides the board and the printed parts, are all cheep, nothing is over a couple bucks.

Ok the VV Grand was brushed aluminum with burl inlays so this one has to be a bit different.

After milling the sides by 2.5mm and the back by 3.3mm I gave it a chemical strip and then a 4 stage polish to a mirror finish. Next I'll drill out to 9mm the fire button hole to take a custom made polished aluminum button then I'll cut the wood inlays. I gave the VV Grand a set of inlaid wings but this one will have aluminum strip inlays which will also be polished to a mirror finish. Additionally this one will have a high gloss finish on the wood.

No you can't really clear coat this finish it will never hold properly so the aluminum will have to be maintained with a light polish once a month. Besides this isn't intended as an everyday vape, it's gonna be more of a showpiece of what a Reo Grand can become. As I'll be polishing every now and then I plan to really give the wood a serious amount of clear coat lacquer to insulate it and protect it.

Is that the new 510?? -captsteve? Looks much different than my LP! ^ pictures just posted above.

My love- Kawa Reo LP w/ TRA SL door & LokiLab Odin.. Mmm Mmm

No it's the standard 510 which comes with every Grand. In fact this Grand wasn't an LP, I cut it to an LP. The actual 510 shows it's brass finish as a result of the polishing and buffing. The pin from the 510 is missing from the picture because I removed it before I started working on this

there is a clearcoat for polished aluminum and it holds up fairly well, only thing is it does make it slightly milky looking compared to just raw polished, not a whole lot, but enough that just polished alone does look more chrome like, the benefit is no maintenance though, this is like what's used on polished aluminum wheels and stuff.. you give up a slight amount of polished look but it maintains that slightly lower level for years where polished is only good until you handle it a bit and start making micro scratches

Thanks turbo, I know that stuff but it's a one way street. You put it on and there's no taking it off if you don't like it so I'll just give it a light polish every now and then, besides I'm good with the wheels so I'm not too worried about it.
