Yep it's the Proxxon PD230/e which is the middle of the road lathe they do. For such a small lathe I was impressed, I tested it first with copper, brass and then mild steel and it cut like butter. I then tried SS as well and it cut it just fine too. It's surprisingly real well built and although I've only used it for an hour or so my first impressions are very good. It's not something for turning serious work but for what we do and what we intend to be using it for I think it's probably the best buy. I could have got a slightly bigger China lathe for less money but I think going with a smaller German made unit is a wiser long term decision.
I went with the lathe first because I'm busting to make my own 510 BF and also some other hardware for that BF woodie I'm designing. I can't pull it off unless I have the tools to make the hardware. I'm planning it to be a 100% mech with no wires anywhere.
Besides when I saw that Grizzly of yours you wet my appetite buddy
Thank God my wife is understanding
