I did the same thing, spending $50 on a "kit" with only one PV! *shakes head* BUT, at least it came with all kinds of chargers that I've since been able to use on my M401!

I still kind of like it, it's different since it's automatic & my M40X is manual, but the draw on it is so difficult compared! I wonder if I managed to get juice in the batt or something!

hmm this makes me wonder - can i use the rn 4081 box/charger to charge up my 510?

the 4081 is one of those green and white e health cigarette boxes

thanks again...!:D

Why is it no one suggests a KR808 model to start with? I find them to be the easiest to use, and I think they work very well. To me it seems an easy switch-over from cigarettes to the new person wanting to try vaping and get off smokes (or cut down). Am I missing something?
I use a 510 and love it, but I think for a new person to this a KR808 would be a great starting place.
NOT flamming--just looking for info. :)

If you have the Health-E cig I'm thinking you do, with the cigarette pack charger case that plugs into the wall, it's not a 4081. If your atomizer has a bridge that sticks out, it's not the 4081. The 4081 isn't too bad, really.

ya its the one that has the the notch on the bottom that you can slide out and the plug slides out, and it plugs right into the wall

Good question. I use the kr808 cartos with an adapter on my 901 mods for driving and they're pretty good. Nobody suggests the 901 anymore either and it was a really good starter for me. Reading through these new mwmber threads you'd think the 510 was the only decent PV out there.
Flaming just a little.

I have a passthrough that I bought as a 901 and a passthrough that I bought as a KR808. I can use a 901 atomizer on both without any problems, I can use the 901 passthrough with kr808 cartos without any problems and I think I can use the kr808 passthrough with a 901 atomizer without any problems (put the kr808 passthrough in a safe place as a backup - don't remember where). I do agree, there isn't much love for the 901s and it's a good setup.

I'm considering tearing up my health e-cig battery to make a mod for those atomizers as they were good atties, just horrible cartridges and horrible batteries.

think i got this little sucker solved now...

ok first off, instead of waiting just 4 hrs to let it charge, i left it overnight plus some about 10 hrs or so of charge time

did all the "first time" stuff again, then i realized...
i am putting turkish blend drops in the prefilled "marlboro high" carts. no one ever accused me of being a rocket scientist.

so now my question is - is there a way to blow out or drain out the prefilled liquid? because i dont have any empty carts. obviously i should have ordered some.

other than that, the primer taste is totally gone or very close to totally gone. also, i am getting great hits off this thing, very very cool.

also thanks again everyone for helping me get the hang of this... much appreciated

Hey Pow, I'm new at this but from what I've read is seems that the best way to get flavor out of your carts would be to drop them or at least the filler in boiling water. I'm thinking to do this rather quickly as to not melt any plastic. Soaking in grain alcohol sounds like it may work to. Hope this is helpfull.

I'll admit, paying $70 for an RN4081 with two automatic batteries and only one atomizer, wall charger, and 5 carts isn't the greatest deal by a longshot...total impulse buy, and my generic 501 is on the way via mail-order, matte black with red and purple LED manual batteries instead of this "looks real, confuses people and gets you into trouble" "real cig" style...however, I'm happy I grabbed this device to satisfy my impatience and curiosity on the spot rather than smoking more and more cigs until I did sufficient research, and it wasn't a mistake in hindsight.

I bought some (also overpriced) peach and strawberry liquids (15ml, 18mg) from a "Colorado E-Smokes" mall booth (before making a TastyVapor.us order, which I can't wait to enjoy) and have had an excellent weekend using the "dripping" technique. I had the cig for over a week before that and was enjoying it as a cool gadget and toy, but didn't properly clear the "primer" from the atomizer, which was yucky for a few days, and I kept smoking normal cigs (about half as many) until this weekend because I wasn't getting a good throat hit and wasn't 100% satisfied with the device as a smoking replacement...until I started dripping!

The dripping technique is so satisfying it seems it can't be as "healthy" as using carts. I mean, my god, it's great. Way more satisfying than the cigs I smoked, but no sore throats, no harshness. Just a really intense feeling of fullness in the throat and lungs, if you do decide to go the full 4-5 seconds before the auto-batt cuts out. For me it only takes 2-3 seconds to get a nice throat hit. With carts you could be picking up more impurities with the various foam materials. Who knows -- I'm strongly convinced it's *all* much safer than smoking, as long as these devices aren't being made with toxic metals.

Knowing all of the concerns with the automatic battery, I've observed these rules:

1.After using 1-2 cartridges as prescribed by the device instructions, remove the poly and plastic inner cartridge. Drill the hole to at least 2X normal size to get a bigger throat hit and easier drag (if desired), clean thoroughly to remove plastic burrs, and use these as your "dripping" mouthpiece cartridges. No need to risk burning your tongue hitting the atomizer directly. They will very quickly "break in" with use and slide easily off of the atomizer.

2.Use no more than 3 drops at a time, typically 2 max unless you're really on the verge of drying out the atomizer. I was fortunate enough to find e-liquid locally (hopefully it's got decent quality control, it tastes great and has a good nicotine level) but I didn't buy any tobacco flavorings, and was craving them last night. Ironically, I opened up a piece of nicotine gum (packed in a "blister pack") and used the plastic blister to capture the "squeezings" from my stock NJOY tobacco-flavor cartridges. I added a little peach from my liquid and enjoyed it very much!

3.There's nothing wrong with "dripping" 1-2 drops max AND using a real wet cartridge to really pack your super-mini cig with liquid, which is also a convenient way to mix flavors and from what I've read the RN4081 atomizer likes to be kept wet all of the time and people typically drip a drop or two on it to keep it happy even when using carts.

4.Never hold the device in such a way that the liquid can drain into the battery -- always keep it level, or pitch the cartridge down towards the ground. I've observed this rule without having to think about it much, and have had no battery problems so far.

5.Disconnect the battery when not in use (I don't actually observe this rule as much as I should, but no problems so far)

After 48 hours of doing this and being completely off of analog cigarettes, I loaded three drops and held the cig absentmindedly for an extended period with the cartridge pitched down (sparing the battery). I did this for too long and noticed the e-liquid had oozed out of the cart and into my hands. Prior to this I've been very good about simply putting it down. If you're going to put it into your pocket (keeping in mind the atomizer is best kept wet from what I've read), try to keep it horizontally level. Breastpockets make this easy for me.

Just rinse it out by squeezing it a bunch of times while running tap water over it.
Then dry it by smooshing it between a paper towel a bunch of times until no water comes out.

Takes about 30 seconds, total.

Did you figure out why you were always getting juice in your mouth?
Until you figure that out, you might keep having that problem no matter which model you choose.

Or maybe you might want to consider using cartomizers.
I don't use them though, so I can't suggest which ones would be good ones.

well it started happening when I started reusing the carts. Apparently I had the foam in there wrong, or too much liquid, or something. I tried following the primer on cutting up a ltitle coffee straw and sticking that in the cart along the side edge, to no avail.

If you put in a little too much juice you can easily get juice in the mouth.

You put in enough juice so that the top of the filler looks just a little bit slushy.
If you put in enough juice so that the top of the filler has even the slightest little pool of juice, that's too much.

Basically, anytime you get juice down the side of the cartridge it can lead to juice in the mouth.
And that includes not only overfilling but also missing with a drop and getting some juice to run down the side of the cartridge.

To fix juice in the mouth you might need to pop the little endcap off the cartridge and soak up any juice in there.

I've had a lot of luck just taking the little caps off, and just leaving it that way. I swear I get less juice that way for some reason. Maybe it's just less surface for it to build up on. Idk.

I never had any luck at all refilling the e-health cartridge inserts. I use that unit exclusively for dripping (dipping, really) now, mostly when trying a new flavor. And even if you could, they honestly hold little more liquid than you'd get from dripping. Those inserts are tiny.

If you stick with it, I'd advise getting a USB charger. I used these things for a few weeks, and had much more consistent luck with the USB charger than the cigarette-box-looking wall chargers.

But move on as soon as you can.
