Boycott PayPal

Paypal is insidious, because they have what amounts to a monopoly over internet commerce, yet they are so heavily politicized.

Of course they must be political, because congress would dissect their monopoly if there was no oversight. So it's a double-edged sword.

I bought my infinity from a forum member, and I explored a half-dozen alternative money sending services. There was nothing that would allow me to sign up and send $100, besides paypal.

One cool growing alternative that I really hope can catch on here at ECF is BitCoin. It's a deeply encrypted cloud-based digital currency. You convert your money in to bitcoin dollars, and then use them for instant, easy money transfers, or just watch as the market expands and your bitcoin currency increases in value!

Seriously. If I had even a few hundred spare dollars I'd buy some bitcoin currency, because the inflation vs USD is considerable.

Agreed, and any site that uses them. I carted up $300 worth of stuff at Totally Wicked's site and then PayPal refused to commit the sale - and worked fine in another tab as I bought a used bike on eBay.

I feel a little bad for TW, as I ended up getting my setup and supplies from a half-dozen other vendors, but there wasn't any way that I was going to make a $300 order over the phone.

So you wouldn't order from your supplier for $300 because you have some phobia with ordering over the phone.

I'm currently mining bitcoin and would LOVE to find a supplier with decent prices that takes bitcoin.
bitvapes takes bitcoin, but is EXPENSIVE.

Paypal (and Google Checkout, maybe others) does not allow the sale of tobacco products, drugs, alcohol, porn, or anything else with an age restriction. It's a liability issue from governmental agencies based on their inability to verify age. It has nothing to do with tobacco companies. Why does everyone automatically jump on the bandwagon of unsubstantiated conspiracy theories?

So all the credit card processors that service porn sites CAN verify age and Google and Paypal can't? I find that hard to believe.
