by the way... I find myself smoking less... but more often.
eg, instead of having a whole fags worth (i believe about 14 drags) ill have a few drags here and there... is that normal? is it good? or bad?

and how sure are we of the safety of using this product? I believe it hasnt been tested properly, so might it be doing more harm than regular cigs?

well, opinions vary...it also depends on the liquid and the ecig used.

most people reckon it doesnt do your atomiser any favours...

i think it doesnt hurt to do it occasionally...provided you dont let the atomiser get too dry,of course, thats the most important thing-if you do itll burn out.
and try not to totally flood it either-dripping is a delicate tightrope walk.

@Mitch
The Carts and juice come in different strengths too, not just flavors, maybe you have one in thats higher, so you dont Need to hit it as much is all.
Think I mentioned earlier, it may not be tested by any government lab, but I have been a guinea pig for about 25years of inhaling fog in night clubs, where i have worked most of my life. Its A lot the same as whats in the E-cig juice to make it look like smoke.
(plus I smoked real cigs on top of all that, hehe)
Unless your the one in a million thats sensitive, or asthmatic it shouldnt bother you.

Tried dripping my 901B using an empty cart - vapour production was really poor compared with the carts. The weird thing is it seemed to help my regular cart make more vapour which is all a bit confusing...
youve just made the atomiser wetter with the liquid,it was probably a bit dry anyway...thats why theres more vapor...

theres nothing wrong with occasionally adding a drop of liquid to the atomiser and using a cart at the same time to improve performance...i do it regularly with no issues.

Hi, at the moment Im using high, regular carts. how do I know when to replace the cart? I'm still on my first one. I havent been using it too much - and Im still getting some vapour, but it seems like it might have reduced now. I don't feel the nicotine hit that I was at first.
I thought they might last a bit longer than that!

there is some cotton wool inside. does that belong to the "atomizer"? should that be a bit moist? cause its a bit dry at the moment.

Ive been reading the health thread, and I must admit the whole PG debate seems very worrying - lots of people complaining of side effects, and worry of the gel building up on your lungs.

Hi Im new around here too. If you get noise or little vapor try turning your atomiser upside
down at night. This will let the juice run down and out of your cig.

Dripping is when u place one or two drops of juice on the atomiser screen. Be mindful not to put too much.

Priming is for the atomiser. When you pick up the cig take a short puff and exhale. This warms up your atomiser so now you can inhale deeply.

Mr.Mitch: Replace or replenish the cartridge. You're smoking the atomiser dry!

You wont be able to get every bit of juice out of the cart by smoking it, only about 2/3 (you can extract the last bit of juice with a syringe). Topping up with your favourite flavour of juice is an economical way of extending cart use.

I dont feel too good today. Im headachey, sneezey, blocked nose... as if Im coming down with a cold.

Ive only been esmoking for a day and a bit, and ive only used 1 cart. Im starting to think esmoking isnt for me. Ive gone back to real fags for the time being. maybe it just doesnt agree with me.

Ive noticed a lot of other people on the forum have reported similar things.

Im also very worried about inhaling this PG chemical. It seems like nobody knows how safe inhaling this stuff is.

Lets wait a bit and see if your "Cold" changes on regular smokes.

I think your talking your self into believing the fact that they are not good for you.

Thats fine, I would guess E-cigs are not for everyone.
Personally I think it HAS to be better then the old way of getting nicotine.

yeah you're probably right. it could just be that I smoked it a bit too much. Im not really a heavy smoker anyway, on the average day I'd probably have about 4 ml's. So one entire "high" cartridge in a day is probably a lot in comparison.

It might just be that it takes a while for the body to get used to the different type of nicotine.

Once the "cold" clears up, ill give esmoking another bash.

I'm only really worried about the PG chemicals in the esmokes. They just seem really synthetic, and chemically. (which is a bit rich, as regular cigs have thousands of chemicals - they just seem more natural somehow)

Just look at the old way as Burning leaves :D
The new way as an inhaler, like for asmatics.
(hmm, wonder what the carrier fluid for that stuff is?)

You can try the vegetable glycerin, it is the same smoke wise. ( I might have an idea for a thread on that
You may be right about you doing it, if you are such a light smoker, it is possible you used higher amounts of nicotine then you normally would use.

You know, it's odd but a day after e smoking, I came down with a horrible cold, the worst runny nose I've had in a long time, constant headaches, and even my ears seemed to clog up occasionally. I still have a slight runny nose, but I am able to continue business as usual.

I wonder if there is something linked to newbie e smoking and getting sick. And I actually REALLY want to e smoke over regular cigs, I love the concept, even with all the soap opera'sh ups and downs me and my Njoy are currently having.

I haven't really seen anyone report the same cold symptoms before, (probaly just threads I happened to pass over knowing my luck). I was unable to e smoke when I had the smoke cause I couldn't feel the vapor at all, so went to mainly regular cigarettes, although I think my cold could just have been clearing up regarding of what I was smoking/vaping. If anyone else experienced this, I think I'll open a thread up regarding this subject for further discussion in the health section, if anyone knows of a thread which already exists specifically for cold symptons after starting, please let me know!

Mr_mitch, it is unfortunate you are also having these problems :(, hope you preserve like I do, but who knows, they do say e-cigarettes are not for everyone. As far as your synthetic and natural thing, I agree that e smoking can't be the healthiest, but as many forum members also believe, I truly do think this is a great harm reduction from regular smoking. I'm not a chemist nor have I underwent any heavy studying of chemistry (now I am trying to in hopes of learning what exactly e smoking does to our bodies and making e-liquid), but alot of very toxic things come in a completely natural form, as does synthetic, but remember, natural doesn't mean good for you. From what I understand, and correct me if I am wrong, but cigarettes actually contain many types of poisons, which people HAVE used historically to kill off others. And another point to mention, again, to the BEST of my knowledge, you encouter Proplyne Glycol in many types of foods, cosmetics, and medicines during your day to day activities. It is used as for making food coloring (and most foods in this day and age use food coloring to a certain extent for cosmetic enhancements), and it also is used to keep foods, medicines, and cosmetics moist.

Again, the effects of VAPING Proplyne Glycol is unknown, but, the key word that I focus on is HARM REDUCTION, and to some SOCIAL HARM REDUCTION (how many non smokers have you meant he greet you with a warm welcome when you are near them and you light up a cigarette, there are a few, but not many in this day and age).

Hope everything works out for you!

Hmmm... good twist, is the cold symptoms to the actual e-smoking, or due to quiting regular cigarettes, definately think we are going to have to start a new thread to discuss this.

Honestly, there where a couple of times where I tried quiting and didn't have any cigarettes for about a day, I think my longest was 30 hours or so, and all I got was the feeling of wanting to sleep. And the short time of been e smoking I haven't actually gone without a regular cigarette, still about 5 a day or so. So I can't exactly say that I can contribute quiting to my cold, but I also can't say that I can contribute e-smoking to my horrible cold, as it has been raining alot here lately, and I rarely protect myself from the rain. It didn't even seriously consider the e smoking to my cold until reading this thread.
