I just got a Kanger Protank (like in the last 20 minutes) and I LOVE it! However, I do have a small problem. There seems to be no resistance on the draw. Is this normal? My other tanks require me to put a little bit of effort into drawing vapor from them (like a cigarette or cigar only not quite as much) while the Protank is as effortless as breathing. Definitely not something to keep me from using it or dissuade me from buying another one, but I wonder if it should have some resistance or if I put it together wrong somehow.

you'll get used to the airy draw in few days. but you will be a bit disappointed when you find out the attys clog after 3 to 4 days and need to be replaced. i'm still using my protank, but for 40 days i changed TWELVE attys and this starts to get on my nerves.. it's a great device though

Protank heads are rebuildable. you can actually rewick the coils too, if you're so inclined. if you ever start experimenting with interesting builds, that extra air flow may come in handy. My protank spends just as much time on my mech as my RBAs these days. It's got a 1ohm micro coil with ribbon in it at the moment, and that thing gives tasty 2 second draws, even with the airy draw. Haven't bought a replacement head yet, and still have one of the original 1.8 coils that I pull the wick, dry burn, and rewick. Hits like it did on day one. Just be careful with dry burning- very short pulses or you can singe the insulator grommet. Doesn't taste good.

So I got two new 1100 mAh batteries with my Protank. After charging one, I put the tank on it as opposed to my 650 mAh (I think) G-Hit, and HOLY CRAP! What a difference a battery makes! A pleasant, but very mild flavor changed to a quite potent AWESOME flavor! Oddly, I've found that every tank I have works with these new ego batteries except for my CE6. Weird.

This is what I use to restrict the air flow on my Protanks. They can be layered depending on how much restriction you like. They also absorb little drops of leaking juice:

Just got my Protank today too - LOVE the draw! (Already pulled 3ml through it, )

I've had bad experiences with bottom-coils before, but I decided to try one more...
...so I'll keep my fingers crossed and my coil wet... :vapor:

That, in my opinion, is the only major drawback to protanks. They chug juice like crazy, and it is so f$@*in' worth it!

I've got 3 atty's for mine. After 1 to 2 days I swap one out. Put another one in. Take the used one wash it in hot water. Scraping the wick with my thumb nail real good to get the gunk off. Haven't had to replace a coil and wick yet.

I do plan to start rebuilding them.

The taste should fade, but it can ruin the juice in the tank. I'm sorry that happened to you, I've not had to deal with it on my own tank so far but I'm always wary of it when dry burning. My buddy did it often when he was learning to rebuild coils. Foul, foul taste.

I don't have the nerves to re-wick, but could try dry burning them. I opened one, removed the top wicks, but can not remove the one the coil is wrapped around. Isn't it going to burn if i dry burn it like that or the last wick is made unflammable?

Also, should I wash it after dry burning or just wet it with juice and vape?

I have about a dozen heads in rotation with my 4 Protanks (yes, 4). I'll use a head for about 2-3 days, then hit it with hot water and soak in alcohol for 2-3 days. Rinse and set aside to dry. By the time I need to swap a head out, I have one ready to go on the rotation.

oh man, i tried hot water, soaking for 1-2 days in vodka, etc. nothing helped the really clogged (vg juice) ones and the others had little to no improvement, and if there was any taste back, then the clogged again afer a day.. i guess dry burning might help, but i heard it greatly shortens the lifespan of the coil, so you can't do it forever. anyone tried an ultrasonic jewlery bath?
