oh man, i tried hot water, soaking for 1-2 days in vodka, etc. nothing helped the really clogged (vg juice) ones and the others had little to no improvement, and if there was any taste back, then the clogged again afer a day.. i guess dry burning might help, but i heard it greatly shortens the lifespan of the coil, so you can't do it forever. anyone tried an ultrasonic jewlery bath?

An ultrasonic cleaner is on my list of things to get.

It costs me $0.16 to rebuild a ProTank head - I don't dry-burn'em anymore.

I think I save the same amount of money by not using the battery to try to burn the gunk off.

I can't be bothered to rebuild 'em, especially in that small of a space. I'd much prefer to swap heads and press on thankyouverymuch.

Oh I could deal with it. But I find as I get older, my patience factor for many things isn't as great as it used to be. Compared to the couple of seconds it takes to swap a head out with a good one compared to redoing the wicks and coil in that tiny space, my patience factor would be in the negative numbers.

I am glad you are enjoying your new Protank! I love them and currently have 5 of them going with different flavors. Like Broncbox said carto tanks always seemed like a tight draw, so I'm ok with a little 'airyness.' I found with some of my thicker 100% VG juices, removing one of the tiny wicks helps a lot. PBusardo has a really good demonstration of that on his Protank review. I haven't had any issues with flooding or leaking - so far.

I don't have the nerves to re-wick, but could try dry burning them. I opened one, removed the top wicks, but can not remove the one the coil is wrapped around. Isn't it going to burn if i dry burn it like that or the last wick is made unflammable?

Also, should I wash it after dry burning or just wet it with juice and vape?

It won't hurt the wick, doesn't burn. I always rinse them after dry burn to get anything that burned off.

The protank is a love/hate relationship for me. Aesthetically it's a really nice looking tank, but it has ruined my drawing habit. I'm used to it now and it's made all my other stuff feel tighter eventhough before all those other things felt perfect. I'm not really a fan of clearos at all, but this tank is ok, I guess. I may experiment with some tape and whatnot, but I keep hearing the airy draw was designed so it would not flood.

I have recoiled one of the heads and was easy enough that I will not be buying anymore heads for it, unless a grommit gets burned. All in all, it's just "ok" to me. This is just my opinion.

you'll get used to the airy draw in few days. but you will be a bit disappointed when you find out the attys clog after 3 to 4 days and need to be replaced. i'm still using my protank, but for 40 days i changed TWELVE attys and this starts to get on my nerves.. it's a great device though
My Protank, Evod T3S hads last a month or more. Try taking the shaft off and cleaning the coil by rinsing with hot water. If there's discoloration on the coil wick after rinsing, perform a dry burn in 2 second burst until the wick is bright white and the coil heats evenly to all orange. Replace the flavor wicks with two pieces of 1 mm silica.

Thumbs up for the Protank. Probably my favorite "lazy" tank. I don't actually find the draw airy at all. Atleast not compared to my AC9 with 2mm airhole. I remove the top wick on it and usually works like a charm. Only problem is that it can sometimes flood with thinner juices by doing that. I currently have 6 of them so that's probably a good enough approval stamp from me :)

I got protank last month, I had to get use to the airy hit but now I'm in love, I'm going to have get another.

Just one? Because I'm going to need more than one more I think. But for now, I have 6 T3s on the way in the mail so I can get rid of all the crappy tanks I have now
