I didn't realize there was so much to vaping! I'm just a casual user that is trying to cut cigarettes out of my life. I know a little bit, but not a lot about what I'm looking for.

I've got a big paycheck coming up and was looking at this. I'd like to get into this a bit more and want to start off strong, being able to move forward as I please:
http://www.vaporfi.com/electronic-cigarettes/vaporfi-vox-ii-starter-kit.html

But it gives you three choices for the tank, and I'm not quite sure which one to get?

Also, I understand OHM and lower resistance and what that means in terms of stronger hits, but which part controls this? If I get the above mod, can't I turn the wattage up and down as I please, or does the tank I choose dictate that? If someone could explain this to me, as I see friends turning theirs up or down, so I don't understand why the tank affects this at all or why the OHM is dictated on the tank itself. It would be cool to be able to get a stronger, harsher hit with more smoke or turn it down if I feel like it, if at all possible.

If anyone could recommend one of the three options in the above link or at least explain the differences I'd really appreciate it, as well as explain what I'm turning up on the actual mod if it's the tank that dictates the OHM?

1: higher wattage give stronger hits.
2: the ohms is a property of the coil (heating element)
3: when new it's good to get a decent regulated mod where you can adjust up or down to your liking.

Appreciate the reply. Looking into the the VaporFi, i've seen reviews online that it's extremely overpriced for what you get. Is there a higher quality Mod that can preform better for a cheaper price? Not sure where to look.

Hi @Storch and welcome to the forum. First off you're paying about twice what the gear is worth. I would suggest shopping for gear at these US places :
www.myvaporstore.com
www.originvape.com
www.sweetvapes.com
Vape Super Saver
www.myfreedomsmokes.com
www.mtbakervapor.com
www.madvapes.com
www.gotvapes.com

Turnaround is usually 4 days from order to hand. You might also check here (being a holiday there will be sales) :
DEALS and STEALS - Deals and Steals (go to last couple pages)
FORUM SUPPLIERS - ECF Forum Suppliers
COUPONS - Stores - ECF E-Cigarette Coupons

The gear you looked at is a "clone" Kanger Subtank Mini with a mod (battery). You might look at the Kanger Subbox kit, Innokin MVP Pro kit, and heck there are hundreds better than what you have picked out. You should be able to get the same/better for $100 instead of the $199 that company charges. Just starting out I wouldn't be concerned about temp control (protects from over heating the coil and getting a dry hit), as all Temp Control mods will work with "regular" coils (TC coils cost a little more). I'd recommend a Subtank Mini as a good tank to start. Get a mod of at least 30 watts. (you can find 75 watt mods for the same price.)

Thank you! You probably saved me quite a bit of money. I'll check these out. Are the two you named what you would suggest the most?

Some popular kits to start off with would be
Aspire cf subo kit
Kanger subox kit
Eleaf istick kit.

One decision you have to make is whether to get a fixed battery kit or a replaceable battery kit.
Fixed battery is recommended for somebody new to get them started off as cheaply and simply as possible.

If you get a replaceable battery system, you will also need to get a charger for it, and at least 2 batteries to start.

You have a mod decision. Either one with internal batteries you recharge by using a usb cable (to pc or outlet plug), or a replaceable battery mod where you swap batteries out and put the old ones in an external independent battery charger (like the Nitecore intellicharger i2 for $15), which is recommended over charging while the batteries are in a mod.

I love my Subtank Mini tanks. I didn't care for the wide bore tips so I bought cheap ($1) 510 sized drip tips and swapped it out because I am a mouth to lung vaper. You'll want to get some extra coils no matter which tank you decide to buy.

There are so many mods out you'd have to narrow down what you are looking for to get an accurate recommendation. Spend a little time (like in deals and steals last pages) clicking on some links to go to manufacturer and look at mods and prices. If you find what you are deciding between, type for example: @Storch (@ symbol in front and next to a name to tag someone and they get a notice of a tag) and they can help you choose, or click "reply" to a message and they will also get a notice.

I highly recommend the Evic VT.
It's available for around $45.00.

Goes up to 60 Watts.
Has a built in 5000mah Battery which lasts a long time. Not too big.
Can work as a passthrough and charges by USB Micro
I have one and it's a rock solid APV
Since the battery is built in you don't have confusing battery and charger decisions to make. And since it works as a passthrough you can vape on
it while charging. Very useful if you only have 1 mod. The Price is so low you could buy two!
The Evic VT also has Temperature Control mode which I never use and when used in normal mode it's brain dead easy to use.

Pair it with a Tobeco Super Tank Mini and you have a great system for under $75.00

The MVP 3 Pro is also a worthy contender. But since none of my local vape shops carry it, I haven't had a chance to see it or play with it.
I do like Innokin quality.
