Indeed the Tornado is simply Totally Wicked's name for the Joye eGo. I have confirmed with Artisan vaping that the Ego Booster does work with the eGo passthrough (and therefore with TW's brandname of it).

The reason for that, BTW, is that the eGo passthrough (as well as most 510 passthroughs) is not a true passthrough. It does not pass voltage (at 5V) directly from the USB-connected power source (e.g., computer or wall outlet with adapter). Rather, it merely charges the eGo's 3.2V battery while you are vaping ... and that is critical for the Ego Booster, since it only works with 3.2V fat batts (which also have the the same mosfet as the eGo). [For whatever reason, it also works with 3.7V mods that use very high mAh and/or IMR batteries.]

I got my ego booster yesreday and I am in love. I have been using it with my standard 510 batts from myvaporstore and xl clearomisers from myvaporstore. Wow I started off at 4.8 volts but dropped down to 4 volts. This thing makes clouds of vapor, im using kickbass vapor juice, OMG and Jolly ranger green apple, wow wow wow the flavor is awesome. Its just to bad I bought this a week after getting my Alpha UltraMax 3.7 with res. I bought the batts for stepping it up to 6 volts and blew a bunch of clearomisers, which leads me to why I love this booster, nothing blown with it and if you ask me its super cool.

My ego booster is not working properly after only 2 weeks of having it and only using it occasionally (seeing as I have a bunch of other e-cigs I have in regular rotation).

At first it was working perfectly but after a couple of weeks it would not fire at all. I have to fiddle with the connection between the atomizer end and the booster to get it firing. I put it up against my ear and turn it slowly and wait for the atomizer sound and that works until I change the atomizer and then i have to go through the whole process again. Sometimes it will take a few minutes of fiddling with the connector to get it working, sometimes it doesn't work at all and I give up and try another atty or put the booster aside.

Something is wrong with it and it's going to be a hassle to ship it back to Canada from Australia for a replacement and I don't even know if it has warranty!

I got one for my friend at the same time and his is working perfectly so far.

Well I've resolved my issue with my Ego Booster. The customer service I got from Rob and Jack at Happy Vaper was exceptional. It exceeded my expectations!

Firstly they sent an email to me saying that they had heard I was having difficulties with my Ego booster. I didn't even have to go to them. Then they offered to send me a new one. They dealt with my issue quickly and sent me a replacement Ego booster in no time at all. The new one works perfectly.

I was immensely pleased with their customer service. It is spades above what a customer would ever expect in a normal business transaction.

Keep up the great work guys.

I am loving the customer focussed, personalised and prompt service many of the businesses in the Electronic cigarette community currently offer. I suspect it's due to the make up of the industry being of a 'cottage industry' characteristic.

It's going to be sad when e-cigs get mass marketed and commercialised and customer service fades away to what we usually get from large department stores and mass producing vendors.

Glad you got your problem resolved, Anthony! And I'm not surprised to hear about your customer service experience with Jack and Rob. Happy Vaper is one of the good ones!

I fully agree with your observations about the vaping community and the suppliers in it. I am more optimistic, however. I think there will continue to be a place for the current top-notch suppliers. What will be (and is) mass marketed are the cartomizer-based super-minis like the Maxx Fusion, VOLT, and G6 (those are examples of the best of the breed) ... and perhaps the fat batts. The masses are not going to grab on to Ego Boosters, ProVaris, Darwins, and EQs. But seasoned and discriminating vapers will continue to create a demand for such items and other off-the-beaten-track products.

and 2-month (optimistic) battery lifespan, ...

I am not sure where you are getting that figure. I have ego bats that are over a year old. why would anyone buy a battery if it lasted 2 months., ....remember it IS a battery, albeit encased in a nice coloured package, but a battery none the less...and rechargeable....am i to assume that an 18650 or a 14500 would only last 2 months also?

I am an ego lover....and as an ego lover the booster is perfect for me, I could utilize the batteries I already had and loved(and there were a lot of them). I don't like really high voltages and i don't want to be vaping on a lunch box or a thermos. I have noticed that the battery charge is diminished somewhat, but i also noticed that when using LR atty/cartos on before the booster.

There are pro's and cons to every device out there, this is just another and for me....just what I was looking for.

After doing a lot of reading on the ego booster, I ordered one yesterday. I am a big ego fan so this seemed like a good option for a vv device. Can't wait to get it! Thanks for everyones input. This forum has really helped me with getting objective opinions.

Has anyone had any issues with shipping to the US or other places outside Canada?
