Broke my coils - Mail waiting time is driving me crazy!

Hello there,

So I just started vaping around 2 weeks ago, and I gotta say, I'm loving it! But I broke my coil and now I can't vape!!!

Although I did order a 100-pack of premade nichrome 0.2mm and a 50-pack of premade wires and silica wicks from FT, I feel that I can't wait that long without vaping.. Because of that, I've been watching TOO MANY youtube videos of vaping reviews (either for the review or just to see the milky clouds of vapor that actually calms me down). I have been literally watching vaping-related videos all day long

I would hangout with my friends and they would smoke shisha. And although shisha is the only thing I smoke, I do not feel any thirst for smoking it, at all! If anything I feel the opposite Already made and steeped a few e-juices out of boredom and since I cannot vape, which is good.

Now I'm sitting here unable to vape for a few more days and it's driving me crazy (I think more since I've just started vaping)

Have you had any similar experiences with vaping?

I made the mistake of not having enough stuff on hand in the beginning as well. Sorry to hear this has happened to you.. Let this be a lesson! Have backup EVERYTHING! Backup battery, tanks, coils, plenty of juice etc... This way you wont ever find yourself in such a vulnerable position again

Nice to see another hookah converter But yeah, no coils sucks. That's why I learned how to make my own and always have kanthal on hand... Even when I don't, self-made coils are really hard to break (Even when they get gunked up... Take the wick out, dry burn, run under water, re-wick, you're good to go. No wick? Go to a 24h drug store and buy organic cotton ) so this fortunately is no longer an issue for me.

Since you switched from hookah, I would highly suggest you get into rebuildables. It's gonna be the only way you can get the same clouds, and something like the fogger V4 or a drilled-out dripper (Or one with big stock air holes) that has great airflow will give you the closest emulation possible

Same here! I thought I was the only one here since almost everyone is an ex-analog smoker
Yeah the funny thing is that I bought a lot of cotton, boiled it and everything, and even used it for a couple of times. It was great! Lots of smoke and nice flavor, until my coils broke
Oh so that's why they broke so easily.. They were the ones that came with my e-cigs

Dang.. I hope the ones I have are close-to/better than the ones you just mentioned I've got the Taifun GT rebuildable atty and the IGO-L dripper (the IGO-L dripper is coming with the coils ). I guess the dripper will do the job? I just hope the airflow isn't narrow since it's fixed at 1mm...

The stock coils are absolute crap, hopefully you ordered some kanthal with them to make your own Neither of those are going to compare to the Fogger V4 airflow wise, or a dripper with big airholes... But they're definitely both a step up from your general clearomizers.

As for the airflow on the IGO-L... It's pretty bad, but nothing a drill can't fix Enlarging the airhole that's already there is pretty easy, just take it up size-by-size testing it as you go to find your sweet spot. Remember, you can always drill it out further but it's a hell of a lot harder to close it back up

I feel your pain. Early in my vaping I would run out of different things. Like previous poster said. Make sure to have some backups. Hope you get it soon. Sorry there aren't any local shops to grab stuff from for you. Glad you are enjoying vaping.

I would skip the premades from fast tech. Have tried them and the silica is very dusty and flaky. Make sure you really saturate them as It frays so easily. Since you watched all the vids put an order in for some kanthal at a few gauges and some cotton wool if you feel adventurous ( easier than silica build IMO). Hell pick up a sophia while you are at it

I don't know what the vaping supplies situation is in UAE, but I suspect that's why you are depending on FT. You may very well be able to find Kanthal or at least Nichrome closer to home, and therefore quicker to deliver. It isn't that hard to make a coil and you'll have something to take your mind off not having anything to vape.

I have 15 coils and like ... 50 bottles of juice. When I get down to my last 5 coils... Im gunna buy 20 more....

Always prepared. If i didnt have Vaping, First thing I would do is reach for the Cigs.

I was going to order Kenthal but then I read some reviews of it in comparison to Nichrome and it didn't seem to work for everyone. Some veterans here also reported a metallic taste and some didn't, so I decided to stick with the nichrome.

Oh.. Drilling it is then! Airflow is very important for me, specially after I've tried some chinese made e-cigs before and their airflow was kind of suffocating Haha alright then, I'll start slowly so that I don't end up with a bigass hole that can't be undone

Oh good thing I only ordered 1X of the 50-pack premade silica wicks whcih I found at $2.28, I was actually going to order more! I guess I'll stick with the nichrome coils and make my own. Thanks for the tips!
Even though I wasn't convinced with Kenthal, due to some veterans reporting tasting a metallic kind of taste from it, I wanted to order some to try myself, but unfortunately FT doesn't have them.. My options are very tight since I have no idea where to can find Nichrome and Kenthal locally here (I'll look for them here tomorrow)

Sophia is a great atty, but for some reason (and since I'm a lazy person) I hate dealing with troublesome wicks like the one in the Sofia (maybe I'm not there yet? ), which is actually why I got the Taifun GT and the IGO-L. All I need are wicks and coils and they're easy to setup

Hmm it's almost non-existent, except 'maybe' in Dubai, because I keep hearing of shops that keep selling e-cig supplies despite the ban for them in my country. But for Nichrome and Kenthal.. I'll start looking and asking. Hopefully there are shops that sell them. And yes, that's why I'm ordering from FT

Here is a piece I got from a news site regarding the ban for e-cigs in the UAE:
"Public health experts have said that e-cigarettes — a battery-operated device that delivers nicotine without tobacco and emulates smoking — undermines the country’s anti-smoking efforts. Furthermore, they are concerned that e-cigarettes could increase nicotine addiction and encourage tobacco use in the younger population."

As ironic as it may sound, it doesn't look like it's gonna get any better. And then there's the "younger population" plot that I keep hearing over and over, which makes it even worse.

Yeah I ordered the 150-pack coils before mine broke, and shipped them using the Registered Mail shipping hoping to speed it up a bit. Hopefully it'll arrive this week

That's the weird thing.. For me it's Hookah and for some reason I no longer have the desire to smoke it. Of course that happened after I started vaping Just a few more days and I'll start vaping again!
