Like this one...
115 High Speed Cutter / Model: 115

I will see if I have any of them in my kit. Thanks Tony

I used THIS to cut out most of the material.

Yes, that's the one. You might also need a small 2mm router or something to mill out the corners a little further

I also used THIS to clean it up. It's also great for other uses. One of my most used bits for my dremel.

I used the 115 for one reason only: if you place the shaft of that bit on the mod's top lip, the bit will remove enough material to create a nice deep pocket (more mm to play with) without risking going through the top (as long as you keep the shaft level with the top lip.

I need 65mm + 1.25mm on each side plus a little extra since the battery will be inserted diagonally so more than 68mm... Mod is only 72mm high and the bottom wall has almost 2mm.

The goldy edition is supposed to be the glitch free one independent of screen size... Just check if the soldering holes are gold or tin.

Not sure exactly were to look. Do you possibly have a pic of the gold one? And your saying you can get the gold glitch free one in the original message screen size that will fit in the hana style mod enclosure?

So, maybe this has been posted already, or maybe I am completely missing something. I just went to Fastech to order some more Hana enclosures, and they don't seem to be carrying them anymore. Anyone else see what I am seeing? That will suck out loud if it is true.

Spiceman1967, this place has them as stand alone or as kits, but they're in France  $22.71

Ok just to clear some things up:

1. The "gold" one is said to be glitch free. I honestly hope it is but I'm not vouching for any dna 40 so don't quote me on this.

2. The gold edition is this one. Notice the golden contacts left and right of where the screen attaches

3. The gold ones are to be had in both versions. Large screen and small screen (hana like)

:)

I think the screen glitch has bin blown out of proportion, there were some problems with the early release boards Thats All!
The DNA40's are fine now :) I have 7 of them 3 gold and 4 non and only one does the screen glitch and only about 5% of the time
the screen glitches and it goes back to normal right away, it don't affect the performance of the chip, it's really not a big deal :)

I wouldn't mind my car flashing it's headlights 5% of the time I use them. It would be kinda cool looking I guess [emoji14]

I only had one (one revision before gold) and it glitched only once or twice a day (1 or 2/400 = 0.25% to 0.5%) but I went through the trouble of disassembling my mod and rma the board because I like gold better :)

I can't say if the screen glitch was blown out of proportion or not. I had one board and it glitched. If it was user error or board error, we will never know. I just want one working board myself :)

Thanks. I saw those, but they are for the YiHi chips. They did have the boxes for the DNA chips, those were the ones that I was looking for.

I love the YiHi chips. I've built a SX350 mod and am seriously thinking about another. After my DNA40 problems I am thinking of staying away from them for a while.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

Does anybody have a pic and or measurement of a sx350 board? I suppose the sx350j will be physically different from the sx350?

Just curious if something like that could be fit in a mini hana style mod... ;)

Tony

SX350 Mini

The 350J mini dimensions are suppose to be the same as the 350 mini but YiHi info is dependant on the community and retailers providing
information as there not good with board support unless you speak fluent Cantonese or Mandarin ;)
There were 2 versions of the 350 mini board (non temp) with on board switches/USB+data (YiHi SX Mini mod) the fire switch is always external and a modders board with all switches/USB+data external for mounting.

The Hana/Cana case is pretty much dead for these SX mini boards due to there size and switch placement etc.

There are a few SX350 Hana/Cana boxes around Fasttech and others sell SX300 boxes the board and USB are of different dimensions but with modding a SX350 will fit as its bigger (longer) and the USB+data board is longer.

There are 2 variants of the SX350 one a 3.7v 60W and a 7.4v 100W

Check out the SX350 Varitube thread for any info you need they offer the best support and will answer questions.

Well 61mm will fit in a ft mini hana box and wide wise too. Biggest problem I see is to line up the screen with the hole which will be almost impossible unless someone makes a mini hana with the opening exactly where needed...

Thx for the extensive information :)

The trick is to put two drops of loctite 243 or similar (thread locker) NOT on the threads but under the 22mm plate, half way between the edge and the center... It won't move again unless you warm it up and break the seal.

Thread locker is nothing more than anaerobic glue.

Blue = vibration resistant, will break seal with normal tool

Green = strong, will require moderate amount of force and some heat

Red = super strong, will require a blow torch and you'll probably destroy the part before removal possible

Blue is enough for our application. I use 243 because it's oil resistant. The others require pre cleaning with alcohol.
