YIPPEE!!!

I took a few hours today at the kitchen table work bench and nocked it out. I'm beyond pleased with how it turned out. My DNA30 cradle worked so well I didn't even have to glue it in. I ran out of time (the misses came home), but I'll install the charging board tomorrow.

I just ordered the hana enclosure and I would like to replace the buttons. I seen a few that other people have done but they just look really bulky. Anyone know of any good options that sit more flush for the fire button? I dont mind the tactile buttons for the up and down but do you know If I can find them in colors? I have been searching for a few days and either I dont know exactly what im looking for or I just cant find anything. Thanks.

For those of you that were trusting enough to pick up one of my DNA30 cradles from shapeways.com, I would greatly appreciate any feedback, good, bad, or ugly :p

Bottomline - I didn't undertake this creation to make money. I just wanted to make something that I could use to make building one of these mods easier and lessen my frustration.

BTW, thank you too :)

I've ordered the cradle and can't wait to assemble my box. Thanks so much for putting the cradle in the public domain.

I second this!! Mine is being shipped right now. As soon as it gets here I will have my mod all together!! I will be ordering another box and another cradle as soon as I send my broken dna30 back to evolve to get fixed and I get it back!!

She’s finished, I lucked out and was sent a no logo box. Didn’t really care for the way the FD V3 base set above the box so I used the threaded housing from a V1 and the insulator/pin from a V3 to get a flushed mount and still have it spring loaded. The V3 insulator and pin has the same threading and screws right into the V1 but the V1 housing did need to be shortened a little or the pin will sit to low.

Used a bigger tact for the fire button, just had to ream the hole very slightly to get a perfect fit. Used the same up/down buttons that came in the kit.

Went with epoxy for the board and switches. Was going to order the mount and it would have been a bit easier and look better inside but I already had a tube of epoxy and I spent more than I had planned for the connector and fire button.

Thanks all for the info and ideas provided.

I didn't think to take pics with the chip cradle. And I go the black cradle so it didn't show up in my pics. But as you can see I did leave my wires long just in case I need to take the chip out for any reason. So I will take it out tomorrow and show off that beautiful cradle!!

Thanks Sanjosse. It is only nice because of that beautiful cradle you made!!

It is too small for my hand Steve! ! I think it might be better suited for your hand. We will see how well it fits soon enough. :toast: :vapor:
