Not really sure where to put this thread lol.

Bored at work, i built myself a wire spool holder to try and tidy up my build area.

Should hold 8-10 spools, also on the end i put something that i'm hoping will free a hand up when doing clapton. Theory is to put the spool of wire on the end and tighten down the end coupling to keep tension on the spool while spinning the drill. I'll report back and see how it works. Just thought i'd share my idea and see what people think.

Looks a little flimsy there, Bims. You shoulda gone for the 3/4" all-thread.

Seriously - awesome job! How much to make me one?

Haha thanks, honestly, don't know lol. I made it using scraps i have laying around the shop. It's all pretty basic stuff minus the insulated clamps. Have to find out where i can get more of those lol.

Hey, thought I would let you know. I may steal your general idea. Looking at it, I'm thinking a person could make it from wood. Use a dowel rod as the spool holder. You can even incorporate your idea on the end to keep tension on a spool. Wife has got me gearing up for Spring wood working ideas. Been seeing a lot of folks here doing wood work mods, mod stands, juice trays and so on. Her idea was to get me going on a project/hobby to occupy me and maybe earn a little scratch from selling primitives. So, I'm stealing her idea and thinking it out as wood working for vaping. :)

I'll give all credits here on the forum, web. I'm not looking for any copyleft troubles, if someone asks I don't use an idea, I'll honor that.

But, I may steal ideas with permissions asked, or at least letting someone know. Honestly, think most of us are just doing piddling stuff and nothing high end pro. Although some of what I've seen often makes me wonder. :) Lots of talent aboard.

I shared for a reason lol. This can be made for less than $10 at home depot. Feel free to use it as you like, i'm not in this for a profit, just sharing what i did.

LOL I'm the same too. Yes, sure if I can make a little scratch it's nice. But I figure on showing off what I build here as well. I'll get the wife to use her fancy phone thing and do Polaroid style snaps. I'll just enjoy building stuff and may even give some away just because. S'all Goode, greatest author I ever knew. Like you, I'm a hobbying. Got to do something to keep the funk away.

I might have to make something like that. I had to rewind a 100 ft spool of 26 ga ka1 i was working with yesterday when my juice cover fingers let it slip and it raced around my living room. Thanks for the idea

Lol, i'm going to modify it a tiny bit and add a nut on the inside to keep tension on all of the spools because a few times i've slipped and the spool unwound. I hate when that happens. If you make something, post back here and let me know how it worked out.
