So I've been vaping since 10/10/10 and haven't had a cigarette since which is awesome. I *loved* vaping when I started it, I couldn't believe all the different flavors and quickly settled into Fuzzy Navel as my favorite. THen it went dead on me, couldn't taste it at all, which is what some people said happens sometimes so I switched to S'mores (my own DIY) and it was alright, I could sorta taste it and I could vape it as a main vape.

Now, I can't taste that OR any other thing I make or try. I have a bunch of juice here that I've tried and I've made several very different flavors and can't taste any of it. My husband can, he says that it tastes great etc and that I'm crazy if I can't taste it.

So, what's up with that? I've been VERY unsatisfied vaping the past couple weeks. I wanted to give 5v a try, as I hear that its wonderful, but couldn't get it squeezed into the budget. BUT, I also heard that vaping on lr atty on a Riva would simulate that? Is that true? Because I tried that too and it makes the couple juices that I've tried taste kinda metallic.

Anyway, I don't think there's any danger of my starting to smoke again. I have zero desire for that. I just wish I could get that satisfied feeling I'd get when I smoked AND when I vaped until two weeks ago.

Any advice?

Thanks!

~Lyn~

I hear you Lyn, Sounds exactly like me!
I hit a low point in my vaping journey also and became discouraged and dissatisfied with it. I spent tons of money and did lots of trading and still couldn't find anything I liked. I am better now, I created some flavors that I really enjoy (still haven't found the one I love) But I think we have all experienced the same thing. This too shall pass :)
So my suggestion is to keep trying. If you can't afford to purchase, trade, trade, trade. Ask for samples of flavors that you think you may like. What has been working for me is dripping. Flavors are so much better dripped. It's a little more work but worth it. :)

I did try a new atty, I'd been using the same one since I started vaping lol It did help, with getting vapor, because I was also noticing a very decreased vapor amount. The flavor though, still about the same, almost nothing.

I do drip, have since I started vaping. I can't stand the taste of cartomizers, some how I can taste the filler and those ce2's that I have taste AWFUL to me. So I drip.

I have a LOT of juices here, and been meaning to Treasure Chest some. I will do that soon. I don't know what else I should try, juice wise hehe

I have gotten a lot from the wonderful people here, juice, flavorings, etc. I have spent a good deal of money on juice and DIY stuff. I think I should stop buying it. I keep searching for something that is really great and not finding it.

Maybe its just patience, my husband is having NO issues. He loves his Wyatt Earp and he only vapes about 1ml a day anyway. He thinks I'm just being picky lol that could be but I'm unsatisfied!

Anyone know about the differences between lr atties on riva batteries vs 5v vaping and if they're similar? I keep thinking a pretty GLV would solve all my problems, but it probably won't :) And I can't afford it anyway. But, I'd like to know if it would just be more of the same anyway lol

I want to keep mixing DIY and maybe I'll find something, gotta keep searching the recipes and try something else.

Thanks for the replies :)

I do have some AC here that I got in a PIF. Its 48mg though and I also received some doubler and I have some pg/vg and nic juice and all that. I don't know how much I'd like a strong cinnamon all the time but I'd be willing to give it a try lol I have to devote an atty to that don't I? I mean it won't ever come out?

What do I do with it? I can't imagine anyone vaping 48mg so I didn't think I could just cut the 48mg into something and not lose flavor? The doubler, do I just add it to some nic juice and it'll be alright that way but at how much? My nic juice is mostly already pre-mixed to 15mg (around the mg that I normally vape) so its mostly for adding flavorings to.

+1 for the cinnamon vape. When nothing else tastes right, I will definitely do a cinnamon vape. Vapor Renu's Big Red Gum is a good one and cheap! Another cinnamonish vape that has worked for me when nothing else has is KBV Snickerdoodle. I pretty much vape that one exclusively at this point. If you haven't tried a cinnamon vape...it just might be what you need while you're going through this.

Ditto on the plain nic. When I went through one of those 'slumps'... where I couldn't even taste my fav all day, I just vaped plain straight high nic. (high for me) If you normally vape.. 15.. then try 20 or 26. You'll still get the nic, actually a bit of a higher kick, and you'll still have the 'sensations' of vaping/smoking.. but you wont be expecting a flavor, so you wont be disappointed. Kinda like a reversed psychology thing.

Then when I went back to my flavors.. I bumped them up a tad. The flavoring AND the nic level. I like the stronger flavors now. i probably vape at 25% flavoring. I tried a vendor juice the other day (a "WOW" it's so flavorful juice!).. but for me it was.. 'meh'.
Anyhoo.. I've got some 'strong' flavored DIY juices I can send, if you'd like to try them, LMK.

and just keep at it. It wont be long before your taste buds come back :) it's kinda like when you have a cold and cant taste anything.. eventually it goes back to normal!

hth!

hehe you guys are great ;) I don't want to take more juice, I have a bunch here that I will be getting rid of and I have my own nic and flavorings, maybe you could give me some things to mix up? That way I can be a bit self sufficient hehe

I will try the AC next and maybe do what keyz said do I add the 48mg AC to the doubler AC? The doubler isn't a double flavor? so I'd end up with tripple flavor? lol I'm scared of it, to tell the truth.

Also, I did try some of redgirl's cinnamon pear (it was great, I could actually taste that) So maybe it is that I need strong flavors right now. I tried to recreate the cinn pear but it wasn't right. Other ideas would be great :)

Thanks so much for the replies and the reassurance. I really hope its true that the flavor will come back, I miss my fuzzy navel and s'mores and well...being able to TASTE!

Thank you thank you!

Hey Miz, I'm sorry that your having such a rough time with tasting your vape. This happens to me a lot and it sucks. You have so many great suggestions from everyone and that is awesome. No need to be afraid of the AC at all. Just mix the double and the 48mg nic together 50/50 will give you 24mg which is a good strength. All the doubler is is Flavor mixed with PG and VG, there is no nic in the doubler at all. So when you mix the doubler and the 48mg AC you don't lose any flavor at all, that is what the doubler is for. Other wise, if you were to mix the 48mg AC with plain VG or plain PG you would lose flavor, but mixing it as stated above you will lose no flavor and it will taste awesome! I hope this has helped you a lil. As for the LR atty question. I use LR atties on my Riva and eGo batteries and they will give you more flavor, more vapor and a better throat hit. It will be more like 5v, yes, but not harsh in my opinion. I love my LR atties, I have 510 LR and 306 LR. The 306 LR atties are 510 compatible so they can but used on any 510 battery such as the Riva and the eGo type batteries :)

I'm also wondering if vaping some menthol might help? When my taste buds begin to get attenuated, I start by brushing my teeth and tongue. It's amazing how much dead taste bud cells and coating on the tongue will interfere with vaping pleasure. Then, I swish my mouth with warm water, to which I've added a pinch of salt. If that doesn't work, I eat a small piece of bread or a low-salt soda cracker.

I get a wierd metallic taste sometimes, usually if I've hit the PV too frequently over the course of an hour or so. The trick is to change atomizers.

Speaking of that, I've read a lot of reviews and suggestions to have multiple attys going: One for regular tobacco flavors, one for menthol, one for coffees, one for fruits and maybe a fifth one for cinnamon and/or mint flavors. I do this now. I have four 510 attys going, one for each class of flavors. I think it helps.

To simulate a 5volt.. you can use a 306 (or 306 compatible) atty on an Ego/Riva size batt. This is supposed to give you the 5v feeling without actually using a 5v!

After I get back from taking DS to the dentist, I'll send you a few recipes. One is my Atomic Bug juice (similar to the TV AC) then if you like the AC, you can replicate it at home :)
