Thank you, Katya. I so remember you, and so many others who are still active. I'm gonna try the Aspire, but I don't think I could rebuild it. I wonder if it could be rebuilt leaving out the top coil (and that wrap)?

I don't think they can be rebuilt, honestly. Too complicated. Not worth the trouble, IMO.

She's coming home Tuesday:) Is your girl coming home? Luckily, mine is only 2.5 hours away AND there's an Amtrak between us - very convenient!

They are both coming home...

I must say, I was not expecting how overwhelming it was when we left her there, like the earth shifted on its' axis or something. Took me a while to get my bearings. Hope it doesn't cause you sadness, but I'm sharing an article that I thought nailed it and therefore comforted me (2-step link for some reason?):

Sorry I didn't get back with you sooner, but my internal hard drive connections were causing a problem and I had to wait on my son to get here today to straighten the mess out. I taught him computer stuff several years ago and he's having to fix things now that I can't see well enough to do it.

I tried to do some lathe work yesterday when I felt like it and ruined the piece last night. I was dumb enough to begin trying again early this morning and can't say yet how it will turn out. I don't know if I should call that 'making cartomizers' or not, heheh.

I'm so proud of you! :toast:

Small steps!

Hey look at the bright side: At least you're getting "lathed". :D

From what I can make out of the construction, this cartomizer appears to have enough passages for condensation to form. I'm thinking this may be what's getting in your mouth. If the taste is less bitter than e-juice, then it's probably condensation.

It's likely a combination - it's a bit sweet, not hot, but not concentrated like ejuice and it happens about once ever 5 or 6 fillups. It may be a few 'hard draws' - as I rarely do that but, I do sometimes....

Condensation from one of my older cartomizers is 'a bit sweet'. After a certain amount of buildup inside, an occasional 'hard draw' could pull some of it into my mouth. But then, my stuff is completely different than yours and I shouldn't be making comparisons without actually testing one like yours.

Still, the top airflow is good. I'm so used to taking a Qtip to the battery connection before charging and it's nice not to have to do that :)

Up until a few days ago we were almost stopped. I guess it was because so many of us have gone to cartomizers that do not burn.

I'm convinced that this thread is a major source of the move toward clearomizers. There are other sources, but we drove it.

that's exactly what i was thinking.

I still use filler cartos and carto tanks sometimes- but thanks to the people in this thread, i can actually avoid burning them for a reasonable period of time.

Carto tanks were a stepping stone.... a good one for many. I skipped that step because of my personal taste buds which can detect filler ;)
