Inew this this forum but have been reading it for that last severl days trying to find my first e-cig. Im torn between the Vk and the 510. I was leaning towards the VK with what appears to be there exceptional service. I have just read through a thread about these burning carts from a couple months ago that gave me more questions than answers .(under The place for electronic cigarettes reviews, news and chat>The E-Cigarette> Electronic Cigarette reviews>Burning Cartomisers?)
The question as to what the hair is in these disposable carts has yet been answered and the way around the carts not burning seems to defeat the purpose of using the disposable carts. I was hoping for a hassel free and safe way to vaping which the VK seemed to promise. But now there a question as to the health risk in these carts. If you read through the whole thread youll see the disection of several carts and questions as to what some the material is. Maybe SMILIN can answer what the hair is and if greencig carts are the way to go.

I wouldnt let this burning cart issue stop you from chooseing a VK. Im sure SMILIN will resolve this issue for us in the future and as long as you stop vapeing that cart as soon as you get a slight foul taste you dont have to worry about a health issue smoking the burning material. The carts still last a remarkably long time this is just a minor flaw that I have utmost faith will be resolved.

Once I deicide which flavors I like most with this order I am going to order juice and try simply refilling the carts when I feel they need a fill before the burn taste comes and hopfully it that will fix the problem by keeping everything moist before the cart gets a chance to get empty and I feel this will be more cost effective anyways. I can't wait to see what the improved carts will be like!

On a side note I bummed 1 analog today from a friend just after having been analog free for 9 days just to see how I felt about it. The analog tasted like ... and insured me that I never want to smoke another analog again! :)

I have also had an issue with 16 mg coffee carts. I had 4 out of the 5 go bad in less then 25% of their life. I didn't vape them any different then the menthol or marlboro carts I had, in fact after the first 2 went bad I tried to take it even easier on them. It would be nice to not have to worry about burning these up. I can't wait to see how then new ones turn out!!

Just mention it on next order, and I replace with new ones:thumbs:

Wish I could get em all the right way.......but, hand made8-odoes not mean consistent. When they are great, they are Fabulous, when they suck, they stink;)

Our warrantee takes care of that though.

IMHO, it is nowhere as bad as a bad atomizer with 801/901/510/401.et, as well as burning plastic form the same:p

Thanks again will do Steve, although might be a couple weeks before next order since I have 25 carts that should be here tomorrow:rolleyes: One more quick question I'm wondering if your out and about and down to your last cart and it starts making that burning taste, is it safe enough to vape it till you get home anyway or would it be safer just to bum an analog from someone?

I would keep some extra juice around, just for these occasions, I have 5ml bottles coming in so you never will have to leave home w/o it. Small enoigh to carry, w/o getting in the way, childproof, and dated.:w00t:

In the meantime, I would rather vape a litlle paper, than smoke an analog.

YMMV but, when you break down an analog, with the papar, along with the chemicals to make the cig go out, the added chemicals, et, et....you need to do what you think is best. I always carry extra carts, and my pcc as well.

This is sort of a 'preventive' question, I guess. Just want to make sure I'm doing things right (being less than 24 hrs into my VK life here). I assume that it is normal to hear the 'sizzling' sound when you are taking a drag on these, right? Just means the atty is heating up the juice, correct?

Correct. The juice heats up to vapor point and you can sometimes hear it sizzle during this process.

I love the sizzle, means it is cooking just right.....no worries, it will be a sound, near, and dear to your heart. When you do not....you need some juice:thumbs:

Ahhh, Steve ... you just answered my big question of the day! The 'how do I know I'm getting close to the end of the cart life' question. Perfect! So, as long as I hear the sizzle, things are still good to go. THANKS!!!
In case you haven't guessed it, I am SO enjoying this VK, Steve. Was at the Source/Circuit City today looking for a car charger that takes a USB port (vaping with the passthrough for those long hauls, right?). You should have seen the guy's eyes pop open when I showed him what I wanted it for. 'How cool is that?' He was totally taken with it and, of course, I didn't have any cards in my purse!! Showed him the PCC with the Vapor4Life logo though. Will be sure to put those cards in my purse tonight!

I have 6mg coffee carts and found the same issue as well as with my grape carts. It seems the carts with the larger print must be old or somthing they're not lasting half as long as my other carts with the smaller print.

And always carry extra carts with you! NO .... LOGS!

I started vaping a fresh, unused marlboro cart last night, and after maybe 10 drags I got that burning taste.

Luckily I've got some backups still.

Dont pull on it like crazy and let the cart heat up to much or it will burn a fresh cart especially using the USB pass. Smoke it like a analog :)

If its a refill cart that your burning up read through the forums on how to properly refill or pm me and I will help as I had the same problem. If its a prefill cart the only way I can see this happening is if your vapeing so constantly that your heating up the cart like crazy and burning it up. If your cart is getting hot to thr touch as you vape take a breather in between puffs and let it cool down your vapeing it to hot.

HA! easier said than done! I tend to warm them up way too much, either i need higher nic content, or obsessive compulsive disorder treatment lol, but yeah...it looks good on paper, but i breathe through them. (almost).

A key point i noticed earlier was someone mentioned "if you vape like you're smoking an analog..." I smoked 3.5 packs a day. To do that, you must be certain you *never* are without a burning cig. There were many times I had one lit and was reaching for another. Every other breath was a drag off the old analog. I vape pretty much the same way. No help there. Gonna try Dohsma's suggestion and rotate carts LOL.

I know where you're coming from on the chain smoke thing. I used to go through 3 packs a day. I now realize that 10-15 % of the cancer sticks I used never were smoked, they just burned out in my hands or the ash tray. I also learned how to smoke a cigarette very quickly ;) when I needed to dart outside.

At my desk I have 2 VKs. I can usually tell when the cart is getting warm but you need to pay attention to it. I continuously switch back and forth between the 2 to keep the carts cooler. Haven't burned one up yet. But sometimes I do look like I'm vapeing two fisted.

Definately rotate carts and keep in mind the the USB Pass will burn up carts MUCH quicker than a standard battery. I find I can be vapeing a cart for awhile and as soon as I throw it on the USB Pass I'll get the slight foul taste. Im assumething the little extra heat the USB Pass gives off is just enough to burn a not so moist cart. I've been avoiding using my USB Pass latly and have been burning much less carts.

I have been, and am addrssing all issues by making sure the factory fills the carts to maximum capacity:D

Talking to china right now, as a matter of fact:hubba:

Steve:cool:

I even sent the factory this thread.....I do NOT take this lightly. I am also taking care of this by including 5ml bottle juice for as many flavors I can, same as in cart:p

There's nothing like a fresh cart. I look so forward to the sound, feel and taste of them. When the cartridge fillers shorted me I wasn't really mad, just very disappointed. Backups are a great thing!
