keeps the whole cart moist.....and helps absorb heat. The last thing you need is heat to metal.
Inew this this forum but have been reading it for that last severl days trying to find my first e-cig. Im torn between the Vk and the 510. I was leaning towards the VK with what appears to be there exceptional service. I have just read through a thread about these burning carts from a couple months ago that gave me more questions than answers .(under The place for electronic cigarettes reviews, news and chat>The E-Cigarette> Electronic Cigarette reviews>Burning Cartomisers?)
The question as to what the hair is in these disposable carts has yet been answered and the way around the carts not burning seems to defeat the purpose of using the disposable carts. I was hoping for a hassel free and safe way to vaping which the VK seemed to promise. But now there a question as to the health risk in these carts. If you read through the whole thread youll see the disection of several carts and questions as to what some the material is. Maybe SMILIN can answer what the hair is and if greencig carts are the way to go.
I have also had an issue with 16 mg coffee carts. I had 4 out of the 5 go bad in less then 25% of their life. I didn't vape them any different then the menthol or marlboro carts I had, in fact after the first 2 went bad I tried to take it even easier on them. It would be nice to not have to worry about burning these up. I can't wait to see how then new ones turn out!!
Thanks again will do Steve, although might be a couple weeks before next order since I have 25 carts that should be here tomorrowOne more quick question I'm wondering if your out and about and down to your last cart and it starts making that burning taste, is it safe enough to vape it till you get home anyway or would it be safer just to bum an analog from someone?
This is sort of a 'preventive' question, I guess. Just want to make sure I'm doing things right (being less than 24 hrs into my VK life here). I assume that it is normal to hear the 'sizzling' sound when you are taking a drag on these, right? Just means the atty is heating up the juice, correct?

Ahhh, Steve ... you just answered my big question of the day! The 'how do I know I'm getting close to the end of the cart life' question. Perfect! So, as long as I hear the sizzle, things are still good to go. THANKS!!!
In case you haven't guessed it, I am SO enjoying this VK, Steve. Was at the Source/Circuit City today looking for a car charger that takes a USB port (vaping with the passthrough for those long hauls, right?). You should have seen the guy's eyes pop open when I showed him what I wanted it for. 'How cool is that?' He was totally taken with it and, of course, I didn't have any cards in my purse!! Showed him the PCC with the Vapor4Life logo though. Will be sure to put those cards in my purse tonight!
I started vaping a fresh, unused marlboro cart last night, and after maybe 10 drags I got that burning taste.
Luckily I've got some backups still.
If its a refill cart that your burning up read through the forums on how to properly refill or pm me and I will help as I had the same problem. If its a prefill cart the only way I can see this happening is if your vapeing so constantly that your heating up the cart like crazy and burning it up. If your cart is getting hot to thr touch as you vape take a breather in between puffs and let it cool down your vapeing it to hot.
HA! easier said than done! I tend to warm them up way too much, either i need higher nic content, or obsessive compulsive disorder treatment lol, but yeah...it looks good on paper, but i breathe through them. (almost).
A key point i noticed earlier was someone mentioned "if you vape like you're smoking an analog..." I smoked 3.5 packs a day. To do that, you must be certain you *never* are without a burning cig. There were many times I had one lit and was reaching for another. Every other breath was a drag off the old analog. I vape pretty much the same way. No help there. Gonna try Dohsma's suggestion and rotate carts LOL.
Definately rotate carts and keep in mind the the USB Pass will burn up carts MUCH quicker than a standard battery. I find I can be vapeing a cart for awhile and as soon as I throw it on the USB Pass I'll get the slight foul taste. Im assumething the little extra heat the USB Pass gives off is just enough to burn a not so moist cart. I've been avoiding using my USB Pass latly and have been burning much less carts.
