Could be a couple of things. Primer for one, but you've taken care of that. It could also be that the coils are touching the sides of the plastic cup inside, this would make for a nasty plasic flavor. The SI CE3s are lower resistance than their cartomizers or X2 clearos, so you really need to let them sit a while before use as they run hotter. Personally, I like 3 ohms best, but these seem to be ok.

If it’s really thick you may have to thin it a tad or adjust the center tube slightly to make it flow better

I tend to judge thickness two ways:

1) When filling up the syringe, how hard is it to draw it into the syringe, if you let go of the plunger does it snap back hard? If so then the juice may be too thick.

2) Watch the bubbles rise after taking a vape, if it raises really really slowly to the top it’s thick (4 seconds), if it shoots up like in water it’s really thin (1 second), if it moves at a decent pace that’s about right (2-3 seconds).
I know these tests are subjective, but after a while you get the feel for things. It’s amazing how few drops of distilled water it takes to thin a juice. Done right it won’t impact the flavor.

That sounds like what whisky connoisseurs do, they add a drop or two of distilled water to enhance the flavor or something similar. Anyway, I can tell a difference today, it needed a long time to sit, the average wait of about a minute after adding the juice didnt cut it with this CE3 or juice, not sure yet until i try with another one. Bubble rising time is average-fast....flavor improving, ill chalk it up to something with the wick not saturating well or because of alot of primer.

I've been having the same problem with one, I've already vaped ~1.2ml of juice and with a draw of 5-6 seconds I get a burnt fiber taste. The Bubble rises from the opening to the top in ~1.5-2 seconds, so I know the juice isn't too thick.

Another question, how do you remove the the top seal without damaging it, to adjust the opening at the bottom of the stem?

Add; timed my Vape and I get the Burnt taste @3 seconds, my other CE# is good up to 5 seconds, that bubble also takes ~1.5-2 seconds to rise, this is o.k. since my average draw is 3-4 seconds.

Use a pin or needle and slowly angle and pull it up. Check out my video on the ce3. I show how to do it

Burnt taste...an observation.
Yesterday I filled my ce3 for the 4th time using the same juice as the 1st, 2nd & 3rd time.
Later that day I went to use it and it tasted that foul burnt taste...(bit bummed out as I was out boating & showing it off to a smoker friend of mine but then I just had to return to using a trusty SI cartomizer)
When I got home I decided to syringe out the liquid (thinking it must need a clean)...there was a little juice left in the ce3 and decided to try and vape it out...it was really gooood so I just put the juice from the syringe back into it and its vaped wonderfully since then.I never cleaned it.
The only thing I did different this time when I filled it in the morning was I removed the air before I filled it, I only fill it to the level that SI suggests.......
Question....soooo did I remove too much air or what changed? Any ideas?

Mroutlaw, thanks again for riding to the rescue, great video and it solved my problem. I adjusted both posts for a bit more gap and can now do consecutive vapes without the burnt taste... now i'm liking these CE3s

Make sure you don't raise them too much or you will get leaks

I'm did your technique on blowing primer to the coil, and then dry burning it. also, this is 30+ drags into the CE3.
Juice producing burn are 40/60 and 50/50 pg/vg, respectively. I might expect this with all vg, but im doing about half and half with both. On one it might be that the juice is not hitting the wick after a drag...?
