I switched today to a new liquid.. Flavor is berry blend... But after a couple vapes (and flavor was indees good) now i am getting a burnt taste and i think I was actually vaping smoke cause my throat started burning ... The thing is.. The cotton wick is ok.. The rubber stopper isn't burnt... The coil looks normal.. What could be burning that causes the smoke instead of vape?

It sounds like it could be a simple wicking problem. Possibly a short between coils in a dbc type device.

I would need to know a couple of things, I'm not an expert by any means but a few more pieces of information and I'll bet we can figure it out.

What kind of device are you using? If you aren't sure take a good pic of your e cig and post it. What kind of atomizer does it use? Again, if your not sure post a pic of it ( from the side please) What brand of juice is it that seems like its burning? Have you tryed changing your atomizer (if your device has a pre assembled atomizer head)? Is this the only device you have? If it is not your only device have you tryed your new juice in another device? Have you emptied your new juice out of this device and tryed your old juice in it to see if it has the same issue?

If your device uses replaceable atomizer heads, try changing it out first, when\ if you do put some juice into the atomizer directly before installing it, this will prime it and help it feed juice from your tank ( assuming you have one on your device)

Definatly do not smoke e liquid...

With everything appearing normal but running into a hot vape immediately after trying a new flavor the first step taked here is to reduce the wattage if on a VW battery or device or the voltage on a VV battery or device until the normal vape is seen. I run into this problem frequently with SMOK brand coils on that brand's tanks when a battery or mod set at the usual 7w and need to back down to the 5w if not clean or swap coils out of the tank being used.

Most often however it will turn out to be the battery or mod needing a full charge where you end up getting a dry vape since the reduced power will no longer turn the ejuice into vapor. I run into enough with 18650 batteries and once a fresh one goes in a return to normal vape is seen instantly. A dry vape will feel like a hot vape from underpowering which isn't so likely to dry burn the wicking material as quickly. If you are using the smaller 1.6ml cleiaromizer type or 2ml, 2.5ml tanks this will tend to be seen more often.

With the larger Nautilus and Atlantis swapping flavors hasn't been any problem due to the heavier construction seen with the Aspire coils with less wicking to begin with. Silica and ceramic has been the concern with those however since those don't use cotton wicking. Older type tanks like top coiled with long wicks on the other hand are noted for dry wicking issues. Trying a fresh coil along with lowering the watts or volts, recharging or replacing the battery in the mod being used. and even swapping tanks could be what is needed.
