Hey guys...I bought a CE4 Ego starter kit exactly a week ago, and I'm getting a really burnt taste every hit.

I vaped about a year ago and I had an ego, and I dripped right onto the atty, so the switch to tanks was weird for me.

I've been having such a good experience but last night I started getting a burnt plastic taste like the atty is dead dry.

I tried cutting v's into the silicone cap and it seems to be helping, but now I get vapor in the tank? I don't know if that's normal or not cause I'm super new to the tank world haha.

Any pointers would be appreciated!

First problem is the ce4. That's what I started on and quickly moved up to evods after the first 2 weeks. The coil could use a soaking and a dry burn, if that doesn't fix it i'd throw it in the trash.

What do you mean cutting v's into the cap? Like over the wicks?

Yeah I was doing some research and that's what a lot of people were suggesting because the cap was cutting off the wick therefor making it harder for the juice to get to the coil...

Im assuming this must be a newer style CE4 that you can remove the base/stem/head assembly on if your able to get to the silicone cap.

Remove the base/stem/head, pull off the silicone cup on top of the stem, and look at the coal/wick inside the stem/head. Is it all black and funky looking? Also look at how evenly space the wraps on the coil are.

If the coil/wick around it is all funky and black, rinse the head, then put it on a battery (just the stem/head) and dryburn the coil/wick to clean it (the gunk should disappear and the wick turn back to white) then rinse it again. If the coil wraps dont look evenly space try to fix them with a small poker/screwdriver. Lotta work for a $2 clearo, but worth a try.
