Recently got a subox mini starter kit. when its over 18 watt, it will have at burnt after taste and i could barely taste the flavouring. what could have be the problem?

What ohm is the coil you have it attached to?
Is it on the RBA head, or is it one of the pre-built heads?
What airflow setting are you set to?

Like other users stated, you have to make sure you prime the wick before you fire it the first time. Either that or let the tank sit for a while just for the juice to seep into the wick. If you don't do this and burn your wick right off the bat, you'll likely never get that gnarly burnt taste out of it (until you change the head, of course).

Im using the RBA head that comes with the sub tank at the moment, basically if i were to inhale harder or run at high watts, the burnt after taste is there. So technically speaking, ive got to change the head in order to clear the burnt taste out of it?
I've also noticed that my coil was brownish, could that be one of the causes as well ?

Over time your wick will get darker naturally, even if you're using clear juices. If you're using dark juices (obviously) this will be greatly accelerated.

But yes, it's a good idea to rewick if you've burnt your wick, because that burnt after taste is pretty gnarly. I've noticed that, with my Subtank, if I inhale too hard the wicking just can't keep up. I'm used to pretty open-airflow RDA's that (to my knowledge) can't really be rivaled by any sub-ohm tanks.

It's also important: What ohm is the coil you've built/are using?

As mentioned wick perhaps not primed or watts too high. If the cotton got burnt toss it out and rewick.
I think the subtank may have changed since the one I got.
That one liked longer shoulders of the wick, thats the part of the wick from the ends of the coil to where it bends down to the deck.
If i had the wick going from the end of the coil and basically straight down to the deck I would get issues.

The Ohm is 0.6 now.. guess ive got to try rewick again then.
