Hello, ReoVille!

I have a question. My thumb is sore as heck (I know, first world problems, lol) from the constant pushing down of the button will this go away with time, or should I get a button cover? Or, are they permanent? I don't want to alter this at all, and my thumb will get used to it, but I'd like to buy the cover if it doesn't alter the device since it is a loaner.

Thanks for any info you can give me.

Take care,
Dani

They are not permanent and can be pulled off, I do use them on all of mine. But a lot of times the sore thumb is from being a button masher, happens to a lot of new users.

Lightly press on the button while listening to the RBA, when you hear the hiss that is as far and as hard as you need to push.
Thanks! I am off to order one now. I appreciate your feedback.

Take care,
Dani

When you get it there will be a little piece of string with it, don't toss it. Test the button on the Reo to make sure it fires. Sometimes the button cover can keep you from getting enough travel to fire. If this happening put a small scrap of paper inside the button cover. Next lay the string across the top of the Reo's button. Press the cover on over this string.

Please do not dismiss the suggestion by FB that you might be mashing the button. :2c:
Your finger or thumb should NOT feel sore. Really, do the test that FB suggested. You will see quickly that all it takes is a soft push to fire the REO.

Extended button mashing CAN cause the contact to bend or break over time. For your REO's and your digit's sake don't mash the button!

With the button cover you will still need to maintain the "soft touch"! :)

Agreed about the soft touch. However, the button touch also needs to be quick; not slow and tentative, because this can cause arcing. It just takes a little practice to develop the touch.

Awesome. Thanks for the advice. You're right, I probably would have thrown it out.

LOL Bill! Yes, it is such a simple thing but so many new Reonauts just don't know. I didn't know until someone informed me! Before the button covers there were lots more people having sore digits. Now the button covers make it so easy to just mash away!
