Don't look at me....ReosAnonymous is a bunch of Hoople phooey and will not help you overcome the porky dusting. In fact I think the Porkys run ReosAnonymous and dust you at the door for good measure.

Hello, ReoVille!

I have a question. My thumb is sore as heck (I know, first world problems, lol) from the constant pushing down of the button will this go away with time, or should I get a button cover? Or, are they permanent? I don't want to alter this at all, and my thumb will get used to it, but I'd like to buy the cover if it doesn't alter the device since it is a loaner.

Thanks for any info you can give me.

Take care,
Dani

Just curious, which cover did you order? I've tried all three, and just from what I've seen the brass and black cover you will probably need the string so that the cover will stay on, with out the string they will come off the stock button fairly easy. I didn't have string at the time my buddy was offering to give me one and they both popped off pretty easy. I ended up not taking a brass or black cover and decided I'd just order the aluminum one. When I got the aluminum cover I don't remember it coming with a piece of string, anyway I locked the stock button and pressed it on over the stock one until it stopped and I didn't need the string. The aluminum cover fits tight with out string and will not come off. If I ever needed to remove the cover id have to figure a way to pry it back off. It also doesn't interfere with the travel and fires just fine with it on.

Hello citizens of Reoville,
I have another question about Reo-buttons. There are two versions and positions: 1st standard button on top like Reo Grand and 2nd on other side similar Woodvil design. Can anyone discribe advantages or disadvantages between both versions during pushing, e.g. feeling of pressure point; to jam; kind of noises; electrical contact-sensitivity; e.t.c. ?
Thank you in advance!

The location of the button is dependant on the "model". The metal mods all have the fire button on top, the wood mods have it on the side/edge. I only have the metals, so can't really compare them for you.

The woods are only available when Robert gets time to build them, but there's a sale of them coming up in February, I think.

The big difference, with metals you are pushing down to make a mechanical connection with the battery. With the current woods you are just pushing on a electronic switch to close a wire connections, less force involved.

New woods are designed to be mechanical like the metals so the switches will probably change on the next ones.

electronic switches limit the amount of amps, or how low an ohm coil you can run and they are also more likely to fail and need a trip back to Rob to be replaced.

If the button was better looking in the first place....

Don't use the covers. They will disguise the fact your Reo needs cleaning. I've bought about 8 buttons to replace melted ones, so trust me!

You will also mistake 'firing pin no longer works - will not touch the battery' for the button cover sliding down the button itself.

I never wrecked a button since i stopped using the covers...ok - i did - i wrecked that new PEEK one that comes with he gold contacts, but anyway.
