Hi, I have been using my mechanical mod for a couple of weeks now. It's a stingray clone with a dark horse rda. Seems to be running great, hits nicely but the problem seems to be the button.

First off, the safety issue. Even with the locking ring on, it can be fine for 5 minutes then all of a sudden I get a warm pocket or a whiff of liquid. It's firing!! Most of the time it is fine, but for safety sake, I have taken to removing the button when not in use then reassembling for use. When it's running fine, I'm finding the button will only work in certain positions at times. This is obviously a minor problem in comparison, but I'm assuming one solution will sort both.

Any ideas?

Assuming this is a regular SR/switch, check and make sure your top magnet in the button hasn't threaded out (screw it in with a srewdriver or dime etc).

Probably best bet is to completely disassemble, inspect(making sure all the magnets are properly seated), and thoroughly clean the switch parts, then reassemble.

Best of luck!

^^ This. Disassemble the WHOLE SWITCH, and clean the living hell out of it. Almost every switch I've ever opened on a mech, had either too much machine oil or other gunk in there from when it was manufactured. Then when you reconnect it, tighten down the switch contact has been tightened down quite a bit (Only enough to not back itself out), you don't need that loose because you're floating center pin on the top cap, and tightening your switch into the tube are how you'll shore up battery rattle.

I thought that might be the answer. Though I can't work out how to disassemble it. I watched a youtube video which said the white part should screw out. I must have a different type of button as that won't work at all. Just can't get the grip to do it :/
