I have been interested in quitting smoking for a while but I always assumed that vaping was outrageously expensive due to the low number of users in comparison to cigarettes. Recent research has shown me otherwise, but it's also confused me a bit. I've decided to order the V4L XL in a few days when I get paid and I need a little help with cartomizers and such.

1) When ordering cartomizers from a different site than my starter kit, are they universal or do I need certain information to know that they will fit my battery?

2) If I get prefilled cartomizers with my kit do I need to go ahead and buy juice with them to keep them full?

3) What's a good juice brand that compares to a camel light in flavor? Also a good cigar flavor recommendation if you have any.

4) I read somewhere about cartomizers without the filler that can be used longer. Does anyone know if these are available for the Vapor King?

5) Last and certainly not least, Is there currently a discount code for V4L that I can use?

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Any cartomizers that are KR808 will fit the V4L.

I would definitely recommend getting blank cartomizers and some bottles of juice. That way you can see what juice you like and the right amount of nicotine content.

A good place to get tobacco juice is Vapor Station. They have a nice eliquid sample pack.

Vapor Station

Backwoods Brew is also a good place to get small bottles.

I'll check and see if I can find a discount code. I'm sure someone else can help you with your questions as well.

Good luck!

V4L's kits are rebranded KR808D-1s (or KR8 in shorthand around here), so any cartomizers you buy for them would have to have KR8 threads. Their kits seem a bit pricey though. You can buy their prefilled cartos if you want, or just buy some blank KR8 cartos and fill them with whatever flavour you like. I'm not sure what you mean about cartomizers without filler. There are a variety of hybrid-type tanks and cartos out there like the MAP tank, CE2, Liquinator, etc. Whether or not they work as well can be open to debate; some people love CE2s, some hate them. The MAP tank supposedly works very well but is a little fussy to maintain. Liquinator supposedly works well as a hybrid, and I think you can buy them pre-cut, or you can cut your own cartos to fit. PErsonally though I've been sticking with dual coil cartomizers myself. They're easy, the work exceptionally well, and they're low maintenance.

I don't know of any discount codes for V4L, but to be honest I'd shop around at some other vendors to see if you can't find either another KR8 starter kit cheaper, or some other kit like the 510, Bloog MaxxFusion or Smoov or something like that. (Not that there's anything wrong with the KR8, lots of people love 'em, but if price is a concern there are other starter kits out there cheaper.)

Thanks. That Vapor Station sample pack looks awesome. I'm going with this particular model mostly because no one said it sucked. People seem to have a lot of different opinions on different brands and units, but from what I've read/watched people seemed to find this one satisfying even if it wasn't their favorite. I'm probably not gonna worry about cartos for now and just stick with whatever kind the kit has until I can do some hands on research. I did remember another question though. What is the recommended nicotine level for someone who wants to imitate their smoking experience? I don't want to get my fix in a few hits because I personally enjoy the act of it, but I don't want to spend my entire 15 minute break taking every breath through a vape either.

Some things
1) I dislike the V4L WOW cartos and cool cartos... If you buy blanks I suggest Bloog brand cartos they last forever
2) Make sure when you quit smoking you have spare batteries, a personal carrying case and plenty of cartos in case a shipment is blown so you don't have to ever smoke
3) Save your empty cartos; tons of people--like me--start off thinking they won't hassle with refilling them... You probably will--it's cheap, better flavors and easier than you think. So save the cartos.
4) Bloog (which I love) and smokeless image's Volt probably have the best 808d reputation on this forum.

The vapor King starter set seems to be $100 which is pricy. If I were starting on 808ds I would:

1) Order 2 Bloog or Volt auto (or manual) batteries of the size you like; 3 if you are a heavy smoker
2) Order 1 charger (in case the new egg one breaks)
3) Order this charger
Newegg.com - Rosewill RHB-330 7 Ports USB 2.0 Hub with Power Adapter

I just found out about the multi charger--it charger 7 batteries! All you need is a usb connector for each battery. And it's only $20! This way you can acquire new batteries over time and don't have to hassle with 4 chargers like I have going
4) Order plenty of cartos and a small juice bottle for an emergency
5) THEN you can get a personal charging case if you need one later (or now for work) or a passthrough...

3 Bloog batteries= $48
Charger $15
New Egg charger=$20 + 2 usb chargers for the bats $12= $32 total
Plus some cartos

All for the same price but you are set up better for the future IMO.

John Wayne sir I've tried every type of kr808, and while they're all technically the same connection, that doesn't mean they're all the same quality or contain the same technology. The new generation run at 3.6 (see bloog, volt, etc), the older ones start at 4.2 (this is on load btw), and drop to 3.7 after use.... V4l makes the best of them. The newer v4l batts (stealth and king diamond series) hold their voltage better than any other kr808 I've tested. As for the cartos, do not suggest using the horizontal coil (again see bloog, volt, etc.) on them due to the fact the higher voltage causes the juice to burn. There's a reason why they use regulated batts on them....

Hi John Wayne. If you go to Vapor 4 Life forum, someone from the company is always posting sales---they run a sale almost daily. If you join their family -- check out the threads at the top --you will get even bigger discounts via email. There is almost certain to be a sale when you want to order. I used their batteries for months until I moved on to the eGo. I like the 510 products better than K8s. There is a lot more selection and less fussing with the battery/carto connections. But that is just my opinion and there are a lot of varied opinions on the forum. This vaping thing is not a one size fits most.

V4L batts run at 3.7,which gives you a better hit.You can use any 808s on the V4L batts.V4L has some great juice flavors and some cool sampler packs so you can try different flavors!I love the XL manuals. They are by far the best 808 batteries.

I agree with you. CS with V4L has always been excellent too.

I've tried Bloog/Volt/ V4L cartos and honestly find no difference, so I'd order where you get your kit.

I haven't found a current coupon code, but sign up for their newsletter and wait a couple days. They do have sales quite often. If I come across one, I'll post it in this thread.

I prefer the 510, egos as well.

But if someone wants a KR808 with XL batteries, it's a good pv. It's a bit pricey, but all KR808's are compared to an ego. By the time you get the kit, the extra batteries, the pcc, your up there. You can get an ego for $30. But if you like the look and feel of the V4L, it's a good pv.
