It does (or at least it can) balance out after time. The figures in my ticker below are fairly accurate. I was just adding in my head and figure that I probably spent about $300 more on hardware than it shows there, but that's still a pretty solid savings. And I'm in a state with a fairly low tax on cigarettes.
