Halo.. While delicious, their liquids are expensive. I got one sampler from them and treated it as a special occasion flavor. For much cheaper, many will recommend lucky7 or mt baker vapor. Lucky7 takes about two weeks to get the product, mt baker vapor takes about 5 days. For 15 ml you pay about $5 at mt baker and $2 at lucky 7

It has been the same for me. I smoked a carton a week at almost $50/carton, and have spent 4-5x that in just under 2 months. You're looking for a good juice company, trying to find a good PV/APV, figuring out if you like dripping/tanks, etc. The price evens out after a couple of months (for me, I think around month 6 or so after quitting analogs).

My way of controlling my spending is with my signature ticker. When I started vaping, I pretty much figured there would be some sort of initial investment for gear and flavors (I figured $200-300) just because I would still be experimenting. Well, I spent a little more than that... but I am now refraining from making purchases until I reach the next stage in "how much I've saved."

Having been into this for about two months (I smoked for the first three weeks or so of vaping), I was initially into trying flavors from vendors, so at every $50 or so, I allowed myself to make a purchase. I'm now drowning in flavors I have yet to try, so when I was at around $200, I set my goal for not buying anything until I reach $300. I'm almost there (Woo hoo!), so I'm now mapping out my next purchase (batteries and a charger for a mod that I won in a contest). My next purchase target will likely be $400 or $450.

Eventually the spending will drop once I settle into a better pattern, but for now, this makes me spread out my spending--and keeps me from feeling guilty about how much it is...

I added my last few orders to my list of vape costs-to-date earlier. Two months in, and I'm right about at a year total to break-even, versus my can-a-day Copenhagen habit. That doesn't include the future juice orders, or the future DIY supplies, that it'll take to get to that date either.

No worries. :)

Great idea man I'm up to almost 700 saved not counting what I've spent vaping... hmm I think when I get to 800 I'll order some sampler packs online.

l. So Ive spent about $240 roughly. I seem to always spend about 80 bucks to get the free shipping, and I love using the 10% off code.

I smoked about 5 packs/week X $6/pack = $30/week = $120/month

My old man and I spent about $500 a month on cigs before I got us both into vaping. If you aren't spending that much you aren't spending too much. If you are spending that much, and on vaping gear, you are doing just fine. :thumb:

Wow! I thanks for all the responses guys! I haven't got a chance to read them all but..got to the top middle of the 2nd pg lol...but, I will when I wake up. I had a similar problem with one of the first replies to this post today.. with a juice called tribecca by halo. It just isn't tasting like it used to. Must be something wrong with how tight the coil is or the vaper fatigue thing going on...kinda sucked cause I only brought that tank to work. But when I got home I tried my sample of Twisted Java followed by Malibu and I'm now feeling relaxed and refreshed! Can't wait to read the rest of the posts, thanks pals :). Goodnight lol

My "thing" is juice. I started out with a vision spinner and then went to a MVP and love it! I don't see myself going to something else in a while. Juice is another thing. I started out thinking that I would love bakery/dessert flavors since I love those in foods. Turns out I don't like those at all. I love fruit/mint flavors which is nice because I'm not able to eat many fruits because of a texture problem. I love to be able to vape the flavors of fruit that I can't eat! I like beverage flavors also. I try to buy my juice with the sales and coupons so that I can save a little bit of money.

Well, Im glad to hear some experience from other people. I got an overload of information right now, but I know where to come when I need to answer a question! Thanks everyone. I'm vaping on my tank of Sub-Zero/Turkish right now, so that I can clean it out and try a new flavor. I first had turkish liquid in it, which was super spicy, so I added the sub-zero..It just isnt my combination, gives me a wierd head rush, but definitely not bad just weird... now what to try next? haha Probably Belgian Cocoa.. kind of afraid to try another spicy flavor like voodoo or tiki juice.. I'm also still having that wierd taste problem with tribecca- it just doesnt taste like it used to! Don't know if its my hardware or a steeping issue or just the taste buds...

Anyway Im glad I ordered the Triton kit, VV, and all the samples and can get a idea of what I might like when ordering in the future (hopefully soon ha). Im hearing a lot about Mt baker and might give nikoticket a chance and possibly virgin vapors..and ect... :)

If your spending on vaping is less than tobacco products, then it's not too much.

Though it's normal for the initial outlay to be a little more. Actually, mine was still less, the only month that I spent more on vaping was when I bought my first mod kit (mod, tank, extra coils, 2 batteries, charger).

Now I buy items as I need them, or on promo & am spending a lot less than on tobacco.

So...I have three weeks in now of no smoking and been vaping on my halo triton. I first got the starter kit with Malibu and Tribecca at 12ml. Loved them, and not smoking, so I ordered a VV from halo, a new tank, backup coils, and a variety sampler the next week. Then the next week I ordered the gourmet sampler pack a 30ml of tribecca and midnight apple, two new tanks, and voodoo 7ml. So Ive spent about $240 roughly. I seem to always spend about 80 bucks to get the free shipping, and I love using the 10% off code.

I smoked about 5 packs/week X $6/pack = $30/week = $120/month

So Im guessing these three purchases should last longer than two months, but Im afraid Im gonna wanna buy more goodies...I just would like some advice from people who think if I should slow down from their experience or just go with the flow and try some new products when Ive done research and have waited at least another week or two.

I dont really mind spending about the same amount I used to (analytically) and in a super healthier way, but I don't want to get so much I start wasting money when I should be enjoying what I already have. Thoughts?

Time to work out your vape budget:
budget HALF per month what you used to spend of cigarettes.

After about a year you should be settled in with decent hardware and start saving.

When you're starting out, there is so much equipment and so many juices that it's overwhelming. Many of us have tastebuds that don't work real well for a while. We're still having some cravings, at least occasionally; and learning how to get the best from whatever equipment we have. We may still be feeling that "something's missing." These factors all feed into the buying frenzy, I think - plus the lure of all the new and shiny or colorful....and just plain ol' curiosity.

As your tastebuds improve, you learn how to use the equipment better, and new habits begin to take over the old ones associated with smoking, you begin to enjoy the flavors and new habits more and I think begin to be more discriminating about equipment. You're getting a better idea of what you enjoy using and how you enjoy using it. (At this point, you may also be a bit appalled at how much you've been spending, and rather embarrassed at how much stuff you've amassed, ha!) In time....you'll stop buying everything you see, and you either sort of start specializing, or just slow down in general on equipment acquisitions. It may take close to a year to get to this point, though!

Well, that's kinda how it's been for me, anyway. Slowing down (I think) but enjoying more what I've got, partly due to experience and partly to being able to taste better now. I can enjoy "window shopping" without having to have everything I admire now.....of course, new and improved stuff keeps showing up, as in any market....but again, having "matured" a bit as a vapor by now, I have a little more tolerance for waiting and thinking over whether I really "need" that new beauty.....

Despite everything, I'm pretty sure that most of us will eventually be saving money, especially if we were a long time smoker. I did not quit smoking in order to save money and have not kept track of my vaping expenditures. However, finally being able to quit smoking, and pretty much painlessly, is priceless - and this journey has been so much more than just quitting smoking - I certainly feel I have got my money's worth!!

I actually save enough money on medical costs, that vaping shopping is pretty cheap, and I'm no small shopper. Medication alone that I was on for smoking caused problems, was twice a month what I spendiferously supply to vendors of all things vapeage.

Stick that in your financial pipe and smoke it *grins*

I'm sure I'm on the conservative side of things but I have spent about 350, not including juice, and tried a few things but now I have a reo w/rm2 and that's all it took. Just have to find what works for you and I'm sure your spending will level out after a while. Plus considering what you would have spent on analogs...

just pace yourself.. i have so much extra stuff and some redundancy. i got hooked on new gear (still am) but it should hopefully level off at some point. all my gear works well and gets used but 10+ functional vapes is probably more than i really need.

...not sure what i'm really saying here but enjoy this and don't get too carried away.

Yes..Ive been wanting to quit for a while and my last attempt to quit back in 2010 with a ....ty cig-a-like was frustrating. Very glad technology has updated with our intentions. I just checked out the Reo mizer things...wow lol, pretty cool that someone came up with that. For now Im satisfied with what I have, but will definitely be open to whats out there that other people are creating.

Is NicoTicket any good in the triton tanks? Or other juice for that matter? I want a vanilla juice really bad (probably my favorite desert flavor) , and I saw Custards last stand, which seems like a good one to try. I love the halo juice, but I am considering other gourmet flavors halo doesnt offer..
