Buzz Cap center screw

Hi guys,
Been using my BP with a 510 cap and have noticed that it seems like it's sitting a little too high. Every carto, atty that I have taken off has the center pin pushed not flush but actually inside. Not a big deal cause the BP is the only mod that I'm using (and working Great ). Is it possible to recess the center screw into the cap more? Right now it is snug so I don't wanna force it.

You can actually take it out carefully and make sure an extra washer didn't get put under it. The center screw threads into the center post of the cap and there should be one black metal washer directly under the head of the screw and a rubber o-ring under that. Be careful though because these parts are tiny and could be lost easily.

Thanks, Mist, wasn't sure if I would loose a nut inside the cap or something, I haven't taken the cap off yet for any reason.

If you pull the top screw all the way out I believe there's a chance that the inside part will get loose and fall out. It is an assembly, an inside screw goes through a ring lug (at the end of the positive wire) into a little block (probably a washer there, too, I forget), then the top screw comes in from the top and screws into the other end of that block.

If you do decide to pull the top cap, make sure the top screw is at least loosened a bit -- that lets the block on the bottom rotate while the cap is unscrewed, so the wire doesn't get stressed.

When I changed my top cap I just took the top screw out, took the cap off and pushed the center post out. Then slid the center post back in put the cap on and replaced the screw. I didn't even mess with the bottom screw. I'm not recommending that to anyone, I'm just saying how I did mine.

Just ran out and grabbed the cap I use to take pics of the veneered ones with and mark is correct. The center post that the screw is threaded into is loose and can slide out if the screw is totally removed. I guess mine didn't because the stiff little red wire was holding it in place from the other side.

@MOd, yeah, the washer is black so it's real hard to tell from the o-ring.

It is a black plastic washer for better insulation , we used to use brass but it would cause shorts sometimes so we changed to plastic.

Finally took off the cap today to see if I could adjust the height on the top screw. Couldn't loosen the top screw at all, the whole assembly just spun with it. Went slow cause I knew the wire was gonna twist up in there and managed to remove the cap without breaking the wire.

I had to hold both the top and bottom screw to loosen the top screw. Most likely the threads in the center brass bushing had some debris in them because after I removed the screw, blew out the threads, and put back the screw it seemed to go farther inside the bushing.

Now the top screw sits down against the flat washer / o-ring. All is good now.

Here's a couple of pics for anyone else wondering what's inside.

I hate to high jack this thread but it all seems to pertain so - I received my Buzz Pro this week and am very happy with it! I purchased a box of cartos (510D) also - plus a tank - plus there were a few pieces of candy in the box.
Filled a carto with my favorite juice, screwed it on with 2 fully cahrged batteries (that I bought at the same time too), added a tip and vaped away.
Feels like the first time ... ;-)

Now I want to use some other cartos I have - also 510. But they will not fire.

I read all through the forums and came up with 2 things:
1. pull the pin out of the carto
2. adjust the center screw of the BR

Question:

1. What the heck is a center pin in a carto? I see the threaded end is slotted so can I assume that I need to use a regular screw driver and screw it off? Is that the "pin? The caro looks like it is all in one.

2. How does adjusting the center screw solve the issue? Should that screw sit down lower to remedy things? It seems pretty tight already and there are two black rings/washers under it. I do not want to force it.


(one I understand this then I am going to ask about the tank - you have been warned )

On your carto the center piece is the contact to one side of the coil , it is not making contact to the center screw , take a small screwdriver of sharp tipped knife and wiggle it OUT a bit , this will help it to make contact.

The center screw does NOT adjust the height of the screw !!!! you would need another washer under it

Excuse my ignorance but I am including a pic.
The cartos from left to right are a C-E2 R4, a Joye 510 Cartomizer and 510D purchased with the BP.
I am not messing with the 510D since it works fine but the other 2 - ? I have a small screwdriver and but what am I grabbing and wiggling?

I am not messing with that center screw the center screw.

All 3 cartos work on an ego battery. Just the last on the right, the 510D, fires on the BP.

Here's some pics to help with the center pin in the Carto. Juts need to pry it up with a small blade.

Note: In my case (the original post), it was the opposite - the center screw in the Buzz wasn't all the way seated causing the center pin of the carto to be pushed inside.

I am going to give it another shot. Best I hold the body of the carto with a wrench because that center piece won't budge.EDIT: no luck. I can not get that center pin on the first one to o come up one bit.
I mangled the heck out of the carto.
Before I do any more damage I am going to wait until hubby comes home - he may have a better tool that the little screwdriver I am using.

In the meantime I will use the 510Ds. They are fantastic with the BP.

Is there a thread to the effect of "how to properly punch a carto and use a tank" running before I start one?

Good Luck BoomBoom65, I am reading intently as you are asking the questions that I already have. (My Buzz hasn't been born yet)

I bought the M1A1 tank and a jig and punch (thanks Ma'am!) for punching cartos.....can't wait for your replies!!!

We have small washers that you can install to lift the center screw UP , you might be able to find some locally , use plastic ones if possible , If you cannot find them I can send some to you.

I know there is somewhere I have seen washers that small - plastic ones - but I cannot put my finger on it. I think it was a craft store in the area they sell doll house bits and pieces.
Are they of a particular circumference or called washer #19 or some other code name perhaps?
I will check around. I just popped on a clear CE2 rev 5 - the one where you can see the guts with the wick - and it is working just fine.
