Are you kidding mist...... I saw Bov and Fran at a Dead show at Red Rocks Colorado. Both in tie-dye and long flowing skirts doing the Grateful Dead ecstasy dance.

Hey ladies, How you doin' :2cool:

Red Rocks must have been an awesome venue to see The Dead! I saw Judas Priest and Alice Cooper at Red Rocks and it is my favorite place now to see a show. I had tickets see Stevie Nicks there a month later, but had to leave the state for surgery and missed the show! I'd love to go back though!

I did however see The Dead & Bob Dylan play at Giants Stadium when I lived NY during my high school days. That was an incredible show.

As I sit here toking on my Tornado I notice the battery must getting low, the vapor production is less then stellar and the flavor is so so, I WANT MY BUZZ PRO!

I realize I am just a bit to young to be an old hippie, I missed that error by about a decade, but I have always been an old hippie at heart. I think being conceived at Woodstock means some of that old hippie stuff crept into my blood!

I was born in '59 so yeah, just a little young for the main hippie era. Like you said Moo...it's a state of mind

See? I told ya. You're 2 years younger than me Bov. I turned 12 in December of '69, the year the hippy era officially ended.
There was more to the hippy movement than tie dye. I run into these "neo-hippy" twenty something kids all the time and they kinda bug me. They seem to think being a hippy means not bathing and guys wearing skirts and hemp hats. Most of them don't know spit about politics or what's going on in the world.
Damn! I'm gonna have fun in Portland in a few weeks.

Those were my favorite concerts that I went to -- I went to the Colorado School of Mines, up in Golden, so it was a major party when they came. My frat would have maybe 10-12 deadheads camped out for the week in our living room every summer!!!:thumb: The natural acoustics there, plus looking down at Denver over the top of the stage, meeting some of the best people I would ever encounter the rest of my life, are memories that will forever be emblazoned (blazing for sure!) on my mind........:party::toast:

Those type of chicks were so cool, transfixing........:thumb:

We have the Gorge here in Montana, but it does NOT compare to Red Rocks. I spent 4 years at the Univeristy of Colorado and somehow only managed to make it to Red Rocks once. I've seen concerts pretty much all over the country, from New York to Seattle, inside and outside, but no where are the acoustics or the views like Red Rocks, the natural step seating is not the most comfortable, but it doesn't ruin the show! When Judas Priest starting reving the Harly before they came out it was like no sound you have ever heard!

The Gorge would be cooler if they actually had the show in the gorge or even closer to it, but the venue is actually only next to the gorge and the only time you really ever see the gorge is when you are driving up to park!

Back in the day the best one I went to was the first Sky River lighter than air Fair. Great memories of that one. After that it was Buffalo Don Murphy that ran until they locked him up confiscated his land for running an illegal rock concert. I saw people die at that one. It was crazy. It was policed by the Banditos.

Sounds like an awesome show 5c :) Some really great bands, and the Dead showing up unexpectedly, can't get better than that !!!!

No doubt, Wharf, no doubt -- it makes you wish everything was recorded then like it is now.......not that everything recorded now should be!!!
