Is this your child or are you babysitting? If it is your child they should be use to entaining themselves. If your are babysitting you feel you have to entertain them to keep them happy. You have already done too much. Try letting them color or do some arts and crafts. Even though my grandchildren have x box, wii and all others you can name they love to get on the computer and play games. This is something they can do by themselves. I would say don't wear yourself out.

How does one keep themselves and a 6 year old entertained? We've watched movies, played twister, played Wii, watched cartoons, played Candyland, taken pictures, watched some idiot try to drive down the street in 35" of snow... We can't play outside because the wind is crazy bad...

What else is there to do?

make snow ice cream! Set a bowl outside.. let it fill up with snow... stir in some milk, sugar, and vanilla or whatever flavoring you have. We used to do that all the time as kids.

What?!?!?!?! No, no a thousand times no!!!! You may not have the vanilla. Its for my e-juice DIY. No..... I say NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't eat the yellow snow!!!!

I know you said it's cold and windy outside, but it's the perfect time to make a cool ... snow fort. I made a couple igloos when I was a kid. I'd also take a small shovel and dig tunnels into the snow banks made by the plow in our back yard. I miss those days. Have fun in the snow. As long as you're dressed warm you should be good for a while. Get too cold come in have some hot coco sit by a heater and then go back out. I miss childhood.... and snow!!!

Mercy: With Valentines day right around the corner you could help her craft some super cute home made valentines for extended family. Paper, crayons, and sizzors are all that's needed. Finger paints add mess, but can be fun.

Or how about Chinese New year? There's all kinds of printables online - so you can print out a project page and have her work on it. My 6 year old is working on reading - so we do a lot of reading together. especially working on words. I know it can get aggrivaing and maddening to be stuck inside. Make yourself some camomile ta - sit back and let the kiddo get messy. sure it means more work for you, but messes keep kids happier longer. Sounds like you're doing Great!

If you have a digital camera let your child take photo's, she will have fun and the pic's can be kept as memories of the big storms of 2010 :)
