Yeah, your still fresh in then haha.I did the same thing when i made the switch, especially first thing in the morning,i went nuts the first few days, waking up and grabbing for my cigarettes and not finding them, the first day i swore someone stole them off my nightstand while i was sleeping haha.25 years of the same routine, grabbing for a smoke as soon as i woke up,had me trained into that routine. It takes a while, but over time that goes away, along with the cravings, although i cant say how long that will take,i still get a craving about once every 2-3 months, which is weird because i haven't had a cigarette since march 2014,so almost a year, but every once in a while still get that strong urge,so i just grab my vape and puff away until i'm at the point of getting dizzy from the nic buzz and i'm good again for another few months until it really hits again haha.

Can anyone guess how many ohms this is?
7 wraps of triple twisted 28g with 7/64" ID

Delayed response.

Very pretty coils, but...

No, I can't guess. And you can only guess, not measure. To measure resistance that low you need very expensive, highly accurate, frequently calibrated, very high resolution equipment. None of our normal vape gear is highly accurate at the extremes of the resistance scale. You would need laboratory grade meters.

And there is one of my blitches about extreme low resistance vaping; you don't have a good idea of what you are asking of your cheap (even if high-end) power supplies. You don't know how much current you are drawing from that $10 battery. You are close to a short circuit, and have no way of knowing how close.

It says it takes a 18650 but doesn't come with one.
I like Kanger Tanks, but I would never get this. List price $40
Watt choices are too limited 8, 13, 20, 25, 30, 35, & 40
Kanger KBOX MOD – KangerTech

Yea, I was thinking the same thing Heden, hadnt seen anything on price but then I wasnt looking LOL!

My ohm meter finally got here and the triple twisted isn't as low as I thought it was.
Mega Magma & Holmes both have 7 wraps triple twisted 28g at 7/64".

...

My quad vertical Dark Horse is 4 wraps twisted 28g at 1/8" and reads 0.14 ohms

How accurate do you figure that inexpensive ohmmeter is?

Thanks Heden, I'm not interested either. It sort of feels old school not to be able to adjust your mod in smaller increments. I think Kanger should rethink that mod. With all the great new regulated mods available now, including the less expensive ones like the MVP 3 and the iStick, I think they will have trouble competing.

Indeed you would have thought it would have had a more adjustable power feature rather than a set value system. I think this one will be a big fail... and after they did such a spot on device like the subtanks.

Just As An FYI:

Although I posted this before in another thread, given the previous discussion concerning the invention of "E-Cigarettes" for those who might be interested - Here is some information for "You":

"The earliest electronic cigarette can be traced to Herbert A. Gilbert, who in 1963 patented a device described as "a smokeless non-tobacco cigarette" that involved "replacing burning tobacco and paper with heated, moist, flavored air". This device heated the nicotine solution and produced steam. It was never commercialized.

Hon Lik, a Chinese pharmacist and inventor, who worked as a research pharmacist for a company producing ginseng products, is credited with the invention of the electronic cigarette.[17][94] Hon had himself quit smoking, after his father, also a heavy smoker, had died of lung cancer. In 2003,[95] he came up with the idea of using a piezoelectric ultrasound-emitting element to vaporise a pressurized jet of liquid containing nicotine diluted in a propylene glycol solution.[96] This design produces a smoke-like vapour that can be inhaled and provides a vehicle for nicotine delivery into the bloodstream via the lungs. He also proposed using propylene glycol to dilute nicotine and placing it in a disposable plastic cartridge which serves as a liquid reservoir and mouthpiece.

Hon patented the modern e-cigarette design in 2003. Electronic cigarettes using a different design were first introduced to the Chinese domestic market in May 2004 as an aid for smoking cessation and replacement. Many versions made their way to the U.S., sold mostly over the Internet by small marketing firms.[17] The company that Hon Lik worked for, Golden Dragon Holdings, changed its name to Ruyan (如烟, literally "Resembling smoking"), and started exporting its products in 2005–2006[17] before receiving its first international patent in 2007." (Electronic cigarette - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Also - Here is a diagram for the "Smokeless Non-Tobacco Cigarette" by Herbert A. Gilbert:

BTW: A lot more very interesting information and discourse about who originally invented the "First" E-Cigarette is available out there on the Internet with a quick Google search . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Indeed I have seen and read that one before. thanks for the post!

Keep it up, Sir! As for reminders.... they show up now and then, even later in the process. It just gets easier to ignore them.

I quit 10 yrs ago when I had my first heart attack and a few times a year I will get that feeling. much of it is mind over matter.
I had taken up puffing cigars a few years after my heart attack as I had quit cold turkey. of course I would get nicotine thru my mouth tounge etc. but never inhaled. I took up vaping and after a week or so went to have a cigar and the taste was just so nasty it was surprising, keep in mind I was puffing chocolate phillies that had such a strong chocolate taste I would get comments and compliments on how good they smelled. one of the first times I lit one up in the house my wife came into the room and asked if I was making brownies Ha Ha! when she found out it was a cigar... out the door I went, now she only complains about clouds and fog on teh windows.

window fog-
I use windex in teh truck and house and it works fine.
IMO i believe that you vapers in colder more moist areas have a worse time with the vape fog on windows due to the higher moisture and dew point levels. saw it really bad this morning with the heavy fog we are having.

Subohm and ohmmeters-
My :2c: on the low ohm builds. way back in the 80's I did electronics and worked with sub ohm resisitors and circuits and my meters back then (an a few I still have today) are very capable of reading a low load like subohms with great accuracy.

even the IVP 150 watt box mods have an upgrade (they call it an upgrate Ha Ha) that not only bumps the power to 165 watts but also adds a digit to the ohm reader so now instead of a .8 / .5 etc. reading it can do .55 / .83 readings etc.
Technology has changed and I believe it will get better and more reliable on these new devices in teh coming years

It's Super Contest Sunday Ha Ha! and I want to thank everyone for being a part of the contest!
Thanks!

Yeah, I think I'll pass that one by. I just got a Cloupor Mini and have my eye on either the IPV Mini v2 or the iStick 50w (which, on paper, looks like it may be great).

people in my area are liking the IPV mini 30 watt but I saw where they have just come out w/the 70 watt version. both are single 18650 so probably good for higher ohm devices but for subohm forget it.

I have also heard of several cases of people smoking the Cloupors but not remembering why they smoked. I believe some people put the batteries in backwards...?

How accurate do you figure that inexpensive ohmmeter is?

some are pretty accurate I would say w/i 10%, not medical or scientific accurate but good enough. I have seen some crazy people building what they call .05 and .08 ohm builds that I have great reservations of their sanity let alone confidence in the stated value... and then you get the "should my mod get warm on the fire button" comments LOL!

Yeah,i completely agree about being mind over matter. The first few weeks after switching were a bit rough for me,but it was tolerable. The hardest part for me was,i went almost 2 weeks using an ego,and got to where the craving was almost gone.I went to work one morning, put my ego in my pocket, bent over to pick something up and felt a snap. The ego snapped in my pocket at 8 in the morning,i didnt get off work until 4 that afternoon.I thought i could fight through the day,but by 11 i was ready to rip someones head off haha,so i had to go buy a pack of cigarettes, and like you mentioned, that was the nastiest taste i have ever had,as soon as i got home that day,i went straight to the garage and resoldered the wires that snapped and was back to vaping.I have noticed that usually the cravings i get now, only really hit me if i'm really stressed out,but i have had 1 time that was weird.I wasn't stressed at all that day,i was in the shower, and all of a sudden i got the worst craving i have ever had. This was 6-7 months after switching,so i had been away from the cigarettes for quite a while, but it hit me so hard that day it was unbelievable,it took everything i had not to grab a cigarette that day,i hit my vape so much that day i'm surprised i didn't hit the floor haha, but it worked,so i was happy.

Thanks to you for putting on this very cool contest.

and to everyone else also, feel free to join us over on the other thread for general chit chat etc. I cant post the link on this contest thread as its against the ecf rules (did it once and it was removed by the mods) but easy enough to find :)
we always enjoy new comments, info and vaperhood! :)

Of those here that do DIY... what are your thoughts on diacetyl and acetoin?

Personally, I try to avoid them. I have a few flavors here that have them in there and I tend to look for a replacement for those. Most popped up with the testing after I bought them. I don't do lung hits and after the major dilution in the base, I doubt I would have much risk but son does major lung hits and would rather play it on the safe side if possible. They are still fine for cooking and flavoring coffee so they don't go to waste. So what is your thinking on all of this???

What I've always wondered on the accuracy of the mods is if they are truly measuring the complete circuit of just the resistance of the coil. As corrosion or arcing on the switch contacts, a drop of juice on a battery contact, the 510 connections - threads and pin all can contribute vary small resistances to the circuit. With a 0.2Ω coil it doesn't take much other contributions to become 1/2 the resistance in the circuit.

You would have to breadboard a few mods and introduce known resistances at suspected points in the circuit and see what the mod reports as the result. With a 2.0Ω coil an extra tenth of an ohm would never be noticed, with sub-ohm it becomes much more of an issue.

No, I'm not tearing apart my mods to breadboard them..:p....well, there is one I might try, stay tuned....

Has anyone had a problem with an Atlantis leaking?
I have one that's had no problem.
2nd one I just filled yesterday - used it some last night and it sat til this evening. Tank was almost empty and the juice was in the AFC section.
Thinking it may have been caused by leaving the AFC open at the 2nd largest setting. The one that hasn't leaked stays open at the 2nd smallest.
Could the leaking be caused by having the AFC opened too much?

I hear that once you break the seal, some have had problems with it leaking from the seal, (easy fix, reverse the seal or gasket) but I have not heard of leaking in that area yet. maybe over flooding or juice in the coil?.!
