I take the colored caps a bit further. I try to put drip tips on my tanks that match or are very similar to the color of the caps on that flavor juice bottle. A couple of my juices are very similar in color and this helps me keep them straight. For you folks with dozens of juice flavors. Sorry, you are just chit out of luck..LAUGHSSS

I kind of do that as well - can't do bottle to tip matching but I try to get the tip to match the flavor - strawberry=red tip, licorice=black tip and so on. sometimes I can do it and others times not.

Yes, but aside from the bore. Slow mentioned a preference for glass over metal or plastic. Any reason? And what about shape? Some are vase-like, some are simple shafts, etc. I understand the flat tip ones for comfort and similarity to existing tobacco products....

I guess what I'm driving at is, if one were to plan on blowing $20+ (or even $10+) on a fancy drip tip, how would you base your decision other than looks? And why spend that much other than you feel like spending the money and want to make your vape more unique?

Ok,i get what you meant now,i misunderstood.I'm kinda curious to that part too.The glass, metal, etc. i could understand especially the metal since they can get very uncomfortable in the winter time, personally i have 1 glass one,and it's a nice one but i dont use it,i'm leary of it breaking and cutting my mouth haha.I don't know, but i would guess the vase shapes, etc. would be for looks maybe, again i could be very wrong though. As for price, yeah some are crazy priced,i like my cheap ones,my most expensive one cost me $6 and that included the shipping haha.

I have a few tips that are wide bore they came with the RTAs, and one that's a friction fit, nice if a topper's hole is slightly oversized. Other than that mine are all cheap delrin or acrylic bought on sale...:2cool:

Some of those custom drip tips do look really nice but I can't see paying as much (or more) for them as what I pay for a device. I do have a couple glass ones that I got on sale for just a couple bucks but haven't seen much use - too afraid that I'll chip or break them. Got some metal ones for the drippers and a bunch of acrylic that I got cheap from FT.
I did buy some low priced fancy ones from FT early on cause they looked cool but they don't work out for me too good - either reduced airflow or the shape isn't quite right (but they still look cool)

Alright, new question: How do drip tips affect the vaping experience? I always see reviewers with fancy drip tips on their tanks and drippers--and they always make a point of removing the original drip tip and saying you can use your favorite drip tip--but other than the material feel on you lips (or against your teeth) and the look of the tip with your device and topper, do they make a difference? Shape, etc.? I usually just stick with the tip that comes with the topper...

I have found that I prefer wide bore. I do lung hits, and need the extra flow. Maybe with mouth to lung you would get a slower draw and it would work better with a narrower tip. I'm not sure it works like that, but that's how it seems to me.

Also, I expect the length makes a difference in the temperature of your vape.

I've also heard it said that narrower tips preserve flavor better. I don't seem to get better flavor with them though, I just seem find it more difficult to take what to me is a nice big satisfying vape from a narrow tip.

It will be interesting to hear what everyone else thinks. :)

I've heard the same thing about the narrower tips - tried it on a dripper and to me the amount of flavor was less. Have tried wide bore on tanks (got a couple that fit) and there wasn't any difference that I could tell. I have a couple tip that have a real narrow bore that I have tried on tanks but don't like them cause I can't get a good draw.

I use long, maybe 1 1/16" on my Tanks that I use in my VTR. Gtets the unit back away from my face and I don't feel like I am going to punch myself. I use shorter tips with my tube mod for work to keep the foot print smaller. I also use colors to tell what juice. Red tip, rd bottle cap red bull. etc.etc.

What is that on top of that Itaste? Looks like a stone.
It's either a stone, or "acrylic stone" drip tip. Heden, I think it's you who makes their own drip tips?
Yes Kathi it's a Hedenmade granite drip tip

And I've also made them from Mountain Mahogany

As well as the stand in this pic

Where do you get em. I'm trying different things to see what I like best.

There was one juice vendor who picked up some hemp wick for sale after trying it.... I'd planned to pick some up when I next ordered, but he disappeared. :?: I picked up some Japanese cotton. I quite like it.
I got some from elfwick - Home as well as the place the Count was talking about. Don't know what happened to him but his website is gone.

A lot if you are changing the bore of the hole & the atty can handle more air flow.
Dark Horse with super wide bore has massive air flow.

Friction fit wide bore will increase air flow & allow you to put a glass dropper all the way inside your atty to refill

Some of the wide bore tips that have o-rings & only slightly bigger than normal holes at 510 connection give slight increase in air flow and allow you to refill by putting the dropper in the tip.

The friction fit wide bore are my favorite except when I'm blowing the big clouds. You need the super wide bore for those.

I recently got a wide bore tip with adjustable airflow on it (vendor sent it instead of the one I ordered but made good on it sent the right one when I contacted them).
Figured that since I had it I might as well give it I try. I was figuring it probably wouldn't give me much with the flow opened up - thinking it's drawing outside air - I was wrong. That thing sucks up some vapor. Don't know the physics behind it but I'm thinking about getting a couple more like it.

Pretty much been answered but I find that for me, someone who does not do lung hits, drip tips are as important, if not moreso, than the device or the tank. I seem to be able to take any setup, not change settings and with the drip tip being the only change, make it a completely different experience to the point that you probably wouldn't know it was the same juice.

There are those that go for mods or juices but it is drip tips that I always get excited over. I have seen some that are real beauties and that I would love to have but even $15 for one is something I am not sure I would/could do. Right now that is a half tank of gas or 5 gallons of milk. I bought an authentic Pawn tip in a 55% off sale and it was a purple beauty... order got eaten in TX and was over a month of back and forth before I got them to ship it again... well I ended up with an ugly black one but guess I should be happy that I even got one. $6 wasn't bad and it is one I get a great deal of use from. Looks really don't matter much as most have a straight bore from the neck up. Some are completely straight. It is the airflow diameter at the bottom that determines draw pressure and for me it seems the diameter of the mouthpiece directs flavor. I have one with a tiny mouthpiece hole and it is like you can almost direct the flavor at the start of the inhale to whatever part of the tongue you want, wider ones just encompass the entire mouth.

One of my fave drip tips is from FT and called Stainless Steel + Resin Detachable 4-Part Hybrid 510 Drip Tip. I will end up getting another of these just in case I ever drop and break this one. I love the length of this one and can change it easy enough by taking a section out. I generally use it with all 4 sections but I don't like using metal tips when in the car or it is cold outside.

PB sent me an acrylic tip with an order once... can't say it is the most beautiful tip I have ever seen but it is one I get a great deal of use from, it is a longer thin vase shape and just has a great mouth feel for me.

1/30 #1..I was reading about making shampoo and the lady said store bought shampoo has pg in it and that it is not good for you..confusing..should I stick with vg..why does pg make some people sick?

maybe the PG drys the scalp of something, I know my 12 hr mouthwash has pg in it and glycerin Ha Ha!
many skin lotions have VG in them and is why you usually fing the VG in the lotion section of drug stores

I wouldn't think pg could be that bad for people,it is used as a carrier for some medicines, such as albuterol, not sure if i spelled that right haha, but anyway,it's the medicine people use in those nebulizers for asthma, they are essentially vaping it.

I used to teach refrigeration years ago, one time during a quiz I had given the class I was killing time and started to read the ingredient label of my inhaler, what a funny coincidence. I asked the class if the knew what chemical Trichlorofluoromethane was and a few told me.... I said that's what they use as the propellant of this inhaler... crazy eh!
