Loranns sells a product called a Bakery Emulsion. They have a Sweet Dough flavor. I have ordered it but not tried it yet. It is supposed to be excellent for standing up to high heat without losing it's flavor. The only problem I see with it is that it contains Xantham gum and I have no idea rather that is safe to vape or what it might do to attys.

Xantham gum will probably gunk up your atomizer, but there is only a tiny amount of it in the flavoring so it might take a lot of usage before it causes problems. Let us know how it works out LoriKay.

There is a recipe for a yellow cake flavor in the DIY Recipes sub-forum. Flavourart makes a cake flavor called Pandoro.

I just recieved my Lorrans bakery emulsions. After a little real world testing and careful reading of the chemical properties, uses and warning on Xantham gum I have decided it is probably NOT safe to vape. This is just my opinion...but here is the MSDS:
http://www.hillbrothers.com/msds/pdf/n/xanthan-gum.pdf

Of particular concern to me would be it's ability to DE-regulate blood sugar levels making it potentially very dangerous for diabetics.

and this:
"the hygroscopic property of xantham gum can impede normal breathing" Now granted...the MSDS is refering to the dust but why take a chance?

But OMG...does it taste and smell wonderfull!! I am hoping maybe someone else knows a little more about it and can add something to this topic.

Also of note is the fact that being so heat stable it will probably wreck atty's. The extremely small percentages used in foods and liquids is misleading and should not be mistaken for "safety".

sorry :( I really had high hopes for this stuff...but hey....I can sure use it to bake with!!!

I don't know how you came to the conclusion it's not safe to vape, but you have left some stuff out. The MSDS first of all refers to 100% PURE Xanthan Gum, and it says "Excessive inhalation of [pure Xanthan Gum] dust should be avoided, the hygroscopic property of xanthan gum can impede normal breathing."

Comparatively, the VG we use is also Hygroscopic, and breaks down into PURE sugar in your body, but has negligible effects on your blood sugar from the amount you vape.

As for the concern with diabetes, if you look at rxlist.com, it says that you can use 12g/day of Xanthan Gum as medication for diabetes because it lowers your blood sugar levels. The World Health Organization (WHO) has set the maximum acceptable intake for xanthan gum as a food additive at 10 mg/kg per day, so it's likely there is VERY tiny amount in your flavoring.

If you overestimate 5% (it's more like <0.1%) of your flavoring is Xanthan Gum, and you use 20% flavor in your mixture, you would need to vape over 100ml in one day just to get 1g of Xanthan Gum (assuming none of it is destroyed or left on the atomizer in the process).

That's why my only concern was clogging the atomizer.
