They are not banned.....

I was concerned upon reading a post here a few days ago about e cigarettes sales being banned in Oregon b/c I get my liquid from Nuvape and that is where they are based out of..

I sent the article link to Jim at Nuvape and here is his response:

Truth is... ALOT of mis-information.
NOT BANNED!!!
The 2 companies involved were advertising the ecig as a "safer alternative". They ticked off the public by selling them in koisks in the malls (in one case in front of a kid video arcade) and were puffing away in an almost civil-disobedient fashion. The state Attorney General (AG) got involved and gave the companies 72 hrs to prove their claim 'safer'. They couldn't.
So criminal prosecution started (or was threatened).
This is where these last stories picked up. The 2 companies involved, agreed not to sell in the state IF, the AG would stop prosecution/litigation,
with the following provisions. They MAY resume selling if either they can show supporting evidence for their claim as a safer alternative OR, the FDA assumes regulation of the e-cig and the companies abide by their regulations.
So.. E-cigs are not banned in Oregon, E-cigs may be purchased retail. In addition, the non-durable goods are unaffected (juice and accessories).

Two of our local online news pages KATU and KPTV (Fisher and Fox) ran the headlines Thursday (e-cigs banned in Oregon), with a small vague story incomplete of the details.
HERES THE TRICK.
The next day the stories were pulled. A reader could NOT find the stories from the news web pages. Until today, the KPTV link was still active IF, someone had sent the link to you. Now even it is not accessible.
The media has again scattered mis-information headlines, then pulled the actual facts.

I question, how much money does big-tobacco have vested in Fisher and Turner (et. al.) ???

This is NOT a good idea. I would not advise calling a state attorney general and calling them a murder. It makes us sound like uneducated, crazed lunatics.

If you want to call, then call, but have a well thought out and researched opinion to give them. Give them a real reason to want to listen to what you have to say, and consider it a viable opinion/option.

I don't agree with calling an attorney general a murderer...pre-ban that is. Post-ban is an entirely different story.

first off the ban is only going by the profound wisdom of the FDA....(FDA what a joke)......never provoke someone with that kind of authority. I agree with uptown...if you want to call write something down that is meaningful and with facts and then read it....that way you dont miss a beat.

An emotionally charged, hate-filled attack voice-mail will not get you anywhere, it makes all pro-vapers look like uneducated .......

Even if the ban comes down hard, with the FDA making their position official (read, a press release with the FDA spokeswoman saying "E-Cigs are banned") there is no way any type of lawsuit or action could be taken.... they would not, at that time, have technically 'forced' anyone back to analogs....you would still have the choice to quit using approved methods...
