Calling all "young" vapers!

I know a lot of the members on here smoked for most of their lives. But what about the members (like me) who haven't? I was a smoker for about 5 years before i switched to vaping. I'm 22 years old and in the 9 months I've been vaping, my life and health has pulled a complete 180. I guess what I'm trying to do is get a role call to see how many people ages 18-25 are into vaping. I feel like more of my generation is getting into it. Soooooo if you so choose, post a reply with your age. And "older" vapers feel free to post yours too. And don't lie about your age, we won't judge
I'm 20...Stopped smoking when I was 19, and I was smoking for about 4-5 years..

I'm 23. Smoked for 7 years at a pack a day. Been vaping for almost 2 months and haven't even wanted a cigarette.

Lit a smoke for my lady while she was driving and I almost threw up. Believe me, I am not being dramatic...I literally almost regurgitated

Let's see I took up smoking at 16 and instantly took it up as a two pack a day habit or more (Made worst since I smoked roll your owns which are WAY bigger than those danty things you get in a pack). I also smoked cigars pretty habitually up until taking up vaping. Been vaping since I joined this forum in 2009 and am 24 now.

How I ended up vaping if anyone cares...
I got broncitis every fall for three years straight, and since I lack health inssurance I ended up with pneumonia in 2009 (I can avoid doctors with the best of them)... Was a very unpleasant experience, tell your still smoking friends :p

In 2009 I was diagnosed with COPD Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease - PubMed Health
And, to top it off I was diagnosed shortly thereafter with chronic low blood pressure when I first tried to quit smoking. I got very violently ill and dizzy just trying to stand up... Doctor wanted me to pay for pills I couldn't afford and when I told him theres no way I can pay for it he told me to eat a bunch of salt.... Yeah I ended up taking up smoking again shortly after, followed by getting my first E-cig shortly after that. Don't think I have ever felt this healthy :vapor:

Favorite weapon of choice: Homemade boxmods... My favorite is a no LED Nicostick.

Well since I still "feel" young and consider myself a "young vaper" . . . H*ll - you did say to be honest . . . At 57 and living my 58th year of life at the moment (and want to continue for a little while longer) . . . I started smoking to be "cool" with the rest of my peers at the age of 13-14 - so that's 43 years of smoking "analogs" that I could "steal' to smoke in the bathroom to a 2 1/2 - 3 PAD Now . . . AND for a number of reasons - while it has been hard - I'm really trying to make the "Transition into the Vaping World" a reality . . .

BTW, Hey - IMO - to learn anything it is okay to judge and be subjective as long as it is for YOUR Information & Opinion . . . So please feel free to "judge" me for what it is worth - I can take it . . . Just my :2c: from someone who is without a doubt chronically older - but not dead - well at least not yet :D

I am of two minds about underage vaping.

On one hand, I'm proud of young people quitting smoking and making informed decisions about their health befor they have the personal experience of decreased health and lose that sense of invunerability. On that note, I would much rather my son to pick up vaping than smoking.

On the other hand, I believe it is bad for PR of the industry, not to mention these tools can be dangerous. Can you imagine the ramifications of a lithium battery critically failing on an underage person?

With that said, if you're underage, please be careful with the juice and equipment. Childproof caps, protected batteries only, and always turn the unit off before putting it in your purse/pocket. And if the batter gets too hot, just remember that a battery replacement is cheaper than an E.R. visit and following PR disaster.
