It is correct as you aren't ingesting the ejuice. You're vaporizing it and inhaling the vapors. There are no calories in the vapor.
''

That makes about as much sense as saying that you aren't ingesting the nicotine, you are vaporizing and inhaling the vapors, so there is no nicotine in the vapor.

Believe what you will, I couldn't care less.:facepalm:

If you get calories by vaping then why is there this

Smoking Alcohol Vapors: Is The Latest

because they are stupid. The point of a digestive tract is to protect the body from bad parts of the food and make the good parts more easily available to be absorbed by the blood. The thing with blood though is that it has no idea where it is and can absorb stuff anywhere, even through your skin and especially well through your lungs where it picks up oxygen.

I get that it is very very stupid but the point is you are going to gain weight vaping eliquide

Good thing calories don't absorb like nicotine does - we'd all get fat preparing the food before we even ate it, imagine if we absorbed calories through our skin and worked as a cook or chef LOL. And, we don't get them from vapor either, if we did, then sniffing cupcakes would make you gain weight.

Why would you not ingest vape? If we pull it into our mouth and it lines our mucus membranes and is being absorbed. If I were to swallow my own saliva, it would have vape stuff in it. That would be ingestion. Not much, but still present.

Now having said that, you would burn more calories picking up your device than what might be ingested.

Jo,

Thank you for all the research and your time. I appreciate it. Your post answered questions I didn't even know I had!

I have one more question. Since vg is about 60% as sweet as sugar yet has no effect on serum glucose, why can't I/we use it for sweetening foods? I am thinking of sweetening Kool Aid and not buying the presweetened things like Crystal Lite (which has replaced my soda intake!). Perhaps even a sweet tea? I understand the laxative effect and quantities would be of a concern so caution would be needed. I am trying to get away from the sweeteners like aspartame, sucralose, etc. and I really just don't like Stevia. It can't be as easy as buying vg for vaping and sweetening, can it? My diabetes would be so happy. I use very little sweetener other than noted in drinks so I wouldn't be consuming huge quantities. Needs field work, I say! Instead of using a sweetener in my DIY, I could use a 50/50 instead of the usual 60/40 I use and maybe I would not need further sweetener. I am intrigued.

OMG hahahhaha. I never imagined this would turn into 4 pages but I saw it pop up today and couldn't stop laughing at how much of a debate it became from a simple curiosity of mine.

Thanks to everybody who answered and I'm glad to see this brought about some sort of question/answer type thread for diabetics. It would seem there's not been any real studies on this particular topic as everybody seems to have their own differing 2 cents to throw in, some seem educated, others less, but still a good discussion. Thanks again everybody and I hope this helped atleast 1 person.

Nope, no calories -- YEAH!!!! Which is why I (seriously) suspect that it's going to be the next discovery for dieters.
One of my friends does this. She quit smoking 5 years ago cold turkey, picked up vaping 0nic to stop eating so much. She's lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I mean, for not changing your diet and not exercising and ONLY vaping that's darn good.

Just use EZ Sweet (or any liquid sucralose concentrate) it works for DIY and for beverages. That's what I use for both.

I am one of those all things in moderation people. I don't see a problem using it as sweetener for diabetics - but if possible try to use all 4 types in various ways so that you aren't using any one of them enough to qualify for the side effects. That's my answer to just about anything -
