I no longer get cravings to smoke, but I do get cravings to vape (mostly wanting to taste the flavor rather than the nicotine). But I can say that when I come into this forum and see everyone's posts it does relieve stressful days. So, in a different way, you all have saved a life. You kept me from eliminating one :lol:

How you deal with the urge to smoke/commit mass murder is what matters!

Sometimes at work i will sit outside, stare into the middle distance and vape; i'm contemplating the fact that if i slaughtered them all, i may raise the IQ of the state overall!

Yes, but then you would not have daily opportunities to compare how smart you are, to how they are not!

I feel for you but must say that after a year of not smoking the thought of "Lighting one up" never crosses my mind. Even when I live with a smoker 24/7. In fact I roll her cigarettes for her and even that never makes me want one for myself. So glad I shook of that demon and I wish all of you could do the same. In a year I have had 3 puffs of a real cig and all that does is confirm what I already know and that's that I love vaping much more then I ever loved smoking......and I did love smoking. Good luck to you all who still have the cravings. (Went from 3 packs a day to total vaping in 3 days. You HAVE to have the right juice or you'll always be looking back. I have a rotation of 10).

I went outside to vape last night. I just needed some air so off to the smoking area I went. I had GCD in my nauti mini. When I smelled the cigarette smoke I thought to myself, how could I or anyone like the smell and taste of cigarettes over the smell and taste of what I'm vaping? And that really includes the smell and taste of any juice, not just NT. And don't even get me started on the smell of people that smoke cigarettes! I'd rather smell like pancakes or cinnamon or.... :)

A short story: My brother in law quit smoking 27 years ago. Each and every day, he told me, he fought his cravings for a real cigarette. Well last month he gave in, but at least he went to vaping and today he's a much happier man and no longer craves the stinky. Scary how long a craving can stay with you and no wonder it's so hard to quit. His wife, my sister, is much happier too cause now he's a lot more content and nice to be around.

A couple years ago when I was still smoking, a friend of mine quit cold turkey. He didn't want to and his only motivation was his wife constantly nagging him about it. He was cranky all the time and he walked outside one day while I was having a smoke and said "Want some advice? Don't EVER quit smoking!". He hated his 'forced quit', felt horrible all the time and fought mad cravings every hour of every day. He said he would have much rather dealt with the health issues associated with smoking rather than the withdrawals and cravings he felt from quitting. I feel so lucky that vaping made my quit a heck of a lot easier than his was!

This is so true...I quit cold turkey back in 98. But I quit because I wanted to, not because I was forced to. It was the easiest thing I had ever done. I thought if it was this easy why haven't I quit sooner? The answer was because I didn't really want to before, now I did. I started back smoking in 2005 because my ex husband worried the hell out of me! Smoking was the only stress relief I had. Flash forward to July, 2014, I knew I needed to quit but didn't really WANT to. I enjoyed smoking. I could go outside to smoke and no one bothered me. But still, for my health, I needed to quit. Enter ecigs and no more cigarettes, of course I'm still asked when I'm giving up nicotine. The answer is always when I'm ready!

Exactly! I started at 24mg, have worked down to 12mg and am in the process of transitioning to 6mg now. It's taken me 16 months and I've set no timetable or put any pressure on myself to do it - whenever it feels right, it feels right. I may or may not ever make it to 0mg and/or quit vaping completely and to be honest, I really don't care if/when it happens. Either way, I'm much better off than when I was smoking!

I get it too ...don't know why it should worry anyone either!
Yes, I'd like to get to zero and I'm probably at around .4 ...but odd times I need more, so I do!

I'll just take it steady and see where I go with it. This time last year, I was smoking 36 cigarettes each day, so I think it's a mini miracle!

I'm at a solid 6 down from 24 in July. No timetable. Just when the higher mg nic started bothering my throat I moved lower. I've gone to 3 on some liquids, even tried NZ but couldn't stay there. I'm good at 6 and until I'm ready to go lower I'll stay here. I do have some 12 stashed away for the really bad days.
