Hello everybody, I had three eGO-T Type batteries all of which were purchased at different times. Oldest one maybe 5 months old.

Long story short I put a fresh cartridge on one yesterday and the battery got real hot and started to produce an "electrical smoke" type smell, and stopped working completely. I thought to myself okay this battery has reach its life expectancy.

I took the cart off and placed it on another battery (fully-charged) and the same thing happened, so I said okay maybe coincidence, so I did the same thing to my third battery and the same thing happened.

I find it hard to believe that three batteries all of which were purchased at different times, and have experienced different amounts of usage would all die at the same time.

Has this been know to happen? Any thoughts, comments , or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The cart must have had a short.

Thanks for the reply, I'm currently waiting to hear from the vendor. Batteries and carts were purchased from the same vendor. Hopefully they will do something about it.

Update: I have not heard back from the vendor yet. Which is odd, because they always contact me the next day. I sent them an e-mail last night. Tomorrow I will call them during their business hours if I still have no response.

Sounds familiar. I ordered dirtbike parts and they screw it all up and charged me twice for 2 day shipping and I received 1 of 6 items so far.. 8 days later I still haven't received my stuff and yesterday I sent a email demanding they do something to fix it. They normally respond same day (I emailed the at 9:30am) but nothing yet.

I hope it all works out for you.

Time to find a new vendor...call them back and let them know you'll be shopping elsewhere.

Thanks for responding cwolfman13, I appreciate it, and I totally agree with you, and I told them that I would no longer be doing business with them and added at the end have a nice day, before disconnecting. Other than disconnecting on her I wasn't rude towards her. I didn't stay on to hear her response, because I was starting to get frustrated.

So because I now want to prove a point to them I'm going to send these bad batteries and defective cartridge back to them, but before I do a friend of mine has 4 of these same battery's and she and her husband no longer vape, so I'm going to get a battery from her, and make a nice video using this defective cartridge showing how that battery shorts out and starts to produce an electrical smoke and no longer works, and then I'm will have some nice video proof, so I can for lack of better words "put them on blast" if I need to.

The lady at the company act like she didn't believe me on what I was telling her, trying to tell me the life span of the batteries are 3- 5 months. Even taking that into consideration, I have 3 usb pass-thrus that I use 85% of the time, so it's not like these 3 batteries got used over and over for months straight.

Bottom Line which I do not think they understand is for me, it's not about the money, it is about getting what your suppose to get for what you pay for.

Definitely a short circuit. If you have a multimeter, test the atty and you'll see zero resistance. Definitely time to buy somewhere else if they questioned your integrity without testing the atty themselves first. A smart vendor would have been more concerned with keeping you happy than attributing fault. It will be obvious as soon as they test the atty themselves that it was the culprit. I'd love to know who the vendor is so that I can make sure I never use them and warn others.
Great idea to get a demo on video. :thumb:

Yep, your cartomizer had a short and shorted out your batteries. :( It doesnt happen often but unfortunately it does happen from time to time and quite often the person doesnt realize whats happened and puts the carto (or atty) on another battery and the second battery gets shorted out too.

There are a few exceptions, but most vendors only have a DOA (dead on arrival) policy on cartomizers. Which means you need to meter them as soon as they arrive and if the meter shows as dead or way out of range one needs to contact the vendor immediately to return them and get replacements. Most vendors do expect the customer to pay for return shipping of any DOA items. Did you look at the warranty policy for the vendor you purchased these from to see what their policy is ? I know its not something we tend to think about until after something has gone wrong but its a good idea to know that policy of the vendors we purchase from.

Every person that vapes should own a multimeter so they can check their attys or cartomizers and batteries from time to time. :)
