I have one of the cheap $15 passthrough's for a 510 @3.7v and i was wondering if i could just remove the battery from the line and just splice the two ends together?? I guess the question is would the atomizer end up getting 110v LOL...or is there is voltage regulator in the "fake battery" piece that the atomizer connects to...the passthrough i got is from e-cig INC the vapor king series....

My batteries, which are 600mah, and are brand new!!!!!!! DONT WORK FOR CRAP....they work for about 1 hr of mild vaping and then just suck...very small amounts of smoke...so i just wanna get rid of the battery all together :) problem solved!!.......maaayybeee.....let me know!

It all depends on what you're using as a power source.
if you're using a usb wall charger then yes, you can just take the batteries out of the loop. But if you're running it off of a computer usb port then you risk ruining your computer.
The reason that those batteries are there in the first place is to prevent the PT from drawing to much current and frying your mother board

i think your computer risk would base on the amps you'd be pulling out of the source. does the usb port outputs 5V? than if you have an atty at say 2.5 ohms you'd be pulling 2A out of it and its not recommended.
i'd get myself one of these
2 amp AC to USB Adapter, ideal for Passthroughs and have a happy safe 5V vaping!

Have you actually tried it? Most of those adapters don't actually deliver 2000mA to the atty. More like 1700-1800 tops. Not much of a kick for a Joye 510, certainly not 5V.

no i did not. but Hoggie swear by those adapters he sell and i never heard of anyone complaining. now i do think that the mosfet and everything alse on those joye sticks decrease the voltage. but voltage is the old way of talking about "sweet spot" its all about power, right? voltage is just a mean to get the power we want.
than get a 2.4A

Now yer talking! Or with a little fiddling (cut and wire direct).

Let me google that for you
try the 4th option
the problem is not the Voltage output that the usb provides 5. but the amps that the atty is gonna try to pull. usb ports are made to output 0.5amps and attys pull something between 1.8 to 2.2 amps depending on its resistance

i cut the battery out :) those 10440's suck....but it seems to be working good and providig good vapor production...I know what ya mean about the voltage and resistance though...i was originally going to be an electrician so im pretty familiar with electrical devices...The less resistance the device has..the easier the electrons can flow through...ohms are a way of measuring resistance correct? Voltage is the "pressue" on the electrons to flow...watts are what we want! and watts are the
voltage(2) / resistance...correct?

i dont know man! i use the online calculator but i think you right!
my PT works ok on my vaio but if i hook it up to my acer PC it makes a not so funny noise. i wouldn't take chances. if you have an old power supply that came with an old router it should have an output of 5V at 2A.
spend an extra 10 bucks for the sake of your lap top!

Why not just add a resistor to the passthrough and limit the current being drawn?

I get 2.2ohm from the atty. I = V/R = 5/2.2 = 2.27A, if I'm reading the multimeter right.

So if you want to stay compliant with your USB port's output then R = V/I = 5/.5 = 10ohms. So you'd need to add an additional 7.8ohm resistance to your passthrough. Can't say how it would vape at .5A (aka 500mA).

At least this is what I would think you would need but I'm not exactly knowledgeable about electronics. It's just a little bit I remember from physics last year.
