Local politicians once again decided that they'll raise taxes on cigs "for my own good", so I decided to look for alternative. I just didn't want to support their addiction to taxes any longer. I tried quitting before with gum, patches, but nothing worked for me. This time, I was not quitting -- I was only switching from cigs to PVs -- so there was no pressure. After about 2 weeks with PV, I quit 1.5-2 packs a day habit completely.

I noticed them at the tech show in Vegas in 2008. We had a smoke free 11 day trip coming up in May 2009. I was sick of everybody's complaining about my smoking. Hubby, kids, parents, etc., etc. So I won at the Casino one night in Jan. 2009, not huge, but nice. I went online and found ECF. I bought a 901 from Puresmoker and juice from Johnson Creek. I figured that would shut up all the relatives. I was very surprised when I tried it. For the first time EVER, I honestly thought, Wow, I could quit using this. In 34 years, 2 packs a day I had only quit once for 2 days. Took me three months to get off the smokes. But I had quit by the time we left on our trip :) Haven't touched one since.

They raised taxes on cigarettes YET AGAIN so I was looking to buy cheaper cigarettes online. I saw an add for BLU and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Not only would it be cheaper, but I could use it anywhere. Some bars and restaurants already would not allow smoking (I quit patronizing those places) but soon the whole state was going with a smoking ban. I had no intention of quitting smoking, and I still smoke about 1/2 pack a day. Comparing smoking and vaping is like comparing apples and oranges IMO. But vaping is a good way to cut down on the expense of cigarettes and I can vape anywhere.

im still having trouble giving analogs up completely, i have one as soon as i get up in the morning, one or two at work, and then one after dinner.
You might just need to change up your routines a little bit, and if you do want to quit - it might be a little tough at first, but its not so tough that you can't do it. :D

I knew that if I wanted to quit the analogs, I'd have to form a "comparable" habit. Then I found the flavors... OMG the flavors!!!! And the lower cost is a bonus too. :)

Didn't figure the nic levels right on my first order, waiting for my second order with slightly higher levels (although I want to wean myself off of nic too.) Found myself smoking the occasional analog in the past few days but hopefully that will change soon.

Bought an e-cig during a stint in the UK in 2007. Brought it back to the States, used it infrequently for the novelty of it while continuing to smoke about a pack a day...picked up e-cigs again fulltime in August 2009 when I was just finally tired of dying a slow, funky death. A cheapo passthrough made it easy to get the fix, and with the right mod configurations and juice after some research and trial and error, it's actually been a much more pleasurable experience than smoking ever was.

I had never heard of them until something popped up on the computer. I started researching out of curiosity and went ahead and got my first kit. It worked until I had battery issues, bought a pack of cigs while I ordered a 401. After that came, I haven't smoked since. I then got a 510 and wowzer, that is the ticket for me. I make sure to have plenty of backups now and don't have a desire to go back to the cigs. Who would have thought it after smoking about 35 years without being able to quit for more than a few hours.

My campus started setting up smoking areas in anticipation of a smoking ban. I had heard about e-cigs and starting do research on the internet. After getting two really crappy models, I happened upon this forum and bought two great models (510 and VK). After a couple of weeks with the good stuff, I gave up tobacco completely (a month ago yesterday).

I was a light smoker for the last couple years and thoroughly enjoyed my smoke breaks, especially after a few hours of studying or on my coffee breaks at work. I have switched to vaping so that I can still enjoy my "smokes" without stinking and dying :)

Some advised me to just cold turkey out of here, but I've tried it before but just like the act of smoking too much. 6 mg vaping on my 510 really does the trick for me.
